How about the spray on rubber coat that they advertize on TV. It now comes in clear. If not you can get the Rustoleam version at Home Depot. I would get the white version. You can use Krylon Fusion paint on it.
Check the kill lever and also where it connects to the IP. Maybe it is engaged or partly engaged. Otherwise pull one of the injector lines and see if you get fuel coming out when cranking.
Hood insulation is not required. It is falling off all 3 of my M939 series trucks. Window weatherstripping for the truck (side windows is all the same on most of out 2-1/2 ton to 5 ton trucks) they all have the same doors. Erik's Military surplus should have the parts you need.
In case you...
Holy cow we actually agree! I had the windshield and light stolen from a M35 that was at Pineville, LA. Those were the days that it took 3 months for the first EUC to clear. I was hospitalized with congetive heart failure when it came time to recover the truck. I sent 2 friends to recover...
Maybe he would have made $5k-$6k on it with the A/C. So you guys will travel 400 miles each way to preview a truck?
As far as not having the correct pictures with an auction. To me that is incompetent at the least. If a seller did that on Ebay they would have to reimburse the buyer for...
There are several shipping services that can transport the tool back and forth. UPS, FEDEX, USPS. I don't think he required you to pick up in person.
Here is something I ran into last night. I am sure it came from this site.
One accessory I highly recommend if you want to save on replacing your consumables. Get a air dryer. Damp air and plasma cutters do not mix well. Here is the one I got for mine: Motor Guard M-45-KIT 1/4 NPT Clean Air Filter Kit
$93 on Amazon with 2 replacement filters included...
I got another option for you. See if you can get a SteelSoldiers member to meet you at Nelis with tools and fluids and do the pre-trip with you. At least that way you know the truck is ready for the trip.
Another idea is to stop at a truck stop close to the base and have them go over the...
Does your fan kick on at all? It make a loud racket when running. On my truck i thought the thermal switch was stuck and the fan did not run -even though the gauge went over 200 deg. F. When I took reading with the infrared thermometer the temp of the engine and radiator were under 200. The...
On the NHC 250 it is on the passenger side of the engine next to the heater hose connection. There is at least one thread on SS that mentions it and may even have the part number. Not sure of location on the M923A2 engine. Check the TM for that.
I found the original listing for the...
Your temperature sensors may be bad. I had that on one of my M923 trucks. With the new sensor the temp has a lower reading. I checked my cooling system with a infrared thermometer. 20 to 30 degrees cooler reading than the gauge on the truck read. Found them cheap on Ebay.
I have 3 M939 trucks. I installed an air ride seat in one of them. What a difference that makes. When I drive the truck without the air ride seat my back always complains. I got the seat pushed back as much as it can.
I suggest you download the tec manuals for the M809 series trucks and start reading them. There is a lot of info on troubleshooting and repair in them. They are available on this site.
Simple. (Assuming it is a a wired sensor VS fluid line) Use your thumb. Get the new sensor ready to insert (taped) and just take out the old one and put your thumb over the hole. Then just get the new sensor ready to insert and thread it on. That is how I replaced the temp sensor on my...
That rubber is fairly thick, but I am not sure how they hang when doing 60 MPH on the interstate. That reminds me of the semi we saw on a trip back from NJ. He had at least one additional semi tractor towed on his 5th wheel with the white mudflaps being dragged on the asphalt as he sped down...
Personally repairing a tire is not a factor I take into account when choosing a tire. In all the years I have driven vehicles I never repaired my own tires. I have changed flat tires, but I let the professionals due the repair replace part. As we get older I think more of us will pass that...
The only hard part of changing the 11.00-20 to 14.00-20 is the spare storage has to be modified. The 14.00 tire will not fir the 11.00 storage rack. The 14.00 front and back pieces are wider. You also have to drive slower since the tires are only rated at 55MPH. I do not recommend driving...
