Why did you part out your M923 M923A1 or M923A2? Poll

I have seen a lot of ads in the classifieds for members selling parted out M939 series trucks. I was curious as to the reason for so many trucks been disassembled. I decided to do a poll on the reasons.

Where is MY commission? You can't use the MRE Heaters without power. I think we should call it a draw since it was mutually beneficial.

OK I have 2 cords available. They are about 4 feet long 12 gauge with the proper connector on the end. NOS from a T shaped power cord. You can splice an extension to it. The important part is the plug. I have already tested it on a MRE heater I personally own and it works perfect. I am...

There are many variation to that connector as far as size and the size of the pins. It is also a bit pricy! Let me look at what I have in stock. I think I may have 2 extra ones I can sell a lot cheaper. Give me until tonight and I will have answers for you. Did the member selling tent...

My M931 Recovery and Restoration thread...

Since the painting of the rusted floor I have managed to prime and paint the underside of the metal sheet that we will use to patch over the cab floor. I also pre-drilled the holes in the metal sheet where I planned to use self-tapping screws to hold the metal down to the existing floor...

My M931 Recovery and Restoration thread...

I know it has been a long time since I posted in this thread. I dropped off the truck to a friend's place to have the rusted cab floor repaired. It has taken over 9 months for him to get the work done. Lots of wasted time! I am not going to go into detail as to reason for the delays. I had...

Official 2013 Georgia Rally Buy/Sell/Trade/Giveaway Thread

The hard part is finding the proper connectors for the MRE heater. I found out that the power cords that are used in tents for powering the outlets fit the MRE heater plug. There was a member selling the complete set of cords and outlet on the classifieds a while back.

You guys do know it is a federal offense to purposely release freon into the atmosphere. You are supposed to recover any freon before scraping the unit. That is why they rather sell the units than scrap them. Less labor expense in recovering the freon. GRAINGER had to pay a contractor to...

Are they the same as the front ones on a Deuce? You can also steal them off a trailer like a M105 if that is the case.

1900 miles in an M931a2 in 36 hours

Wow what a trip. Glad to hear you made it home safe. I was wondering what it cost you in fuel for the trip. These trucks are not exactly fuel misers! I am asking because I intent to make a camper out of a M923 and wondered about trip expenses.

    M129A2C Camper Conversion

You can do it 1 of 2 ways. Get 3/4" Tuff-R insulation. Or if you want only 1/2" Tuff-R then use 2x4s or 2x6s and rip cut them into 1/2" thick strips. Use fir lumber not SYP. SYP is not as stable as FIR. (twisting and warping) SYP=southern yellow pine

    M129A2C Camper Conversion

I would use Tuff-R rigid insulation. It has a higher R value than Styrofoam. I would recommend tongue and groove plywood for the floor. This way you will not have issues with the joints and the linoleum.

Moving M925 Shifter for Leg Room ever tried??

You can always glue some sleeping bag mat material on it. Also known as ethefoam. Same material as the insulation on a hardtop.
