Over the over ride does take out the air parking brake as long as there's air to engage it and if the air don't leak leak out of the spring brake cans you have done away with that Axel brake. You would still have a parking brake with the handle with a set of brake shoes on drive shaft.

Don't give up yet it doesn't sound that bad. They caged the brakes because they knew it had no water in it and could not run the truck to air it up to move it. Put a radiator in and ungage the brakes.

I second that the bolts were loose on my deuce . If you have normal tires on and think it's heavy try 395's

My 250 runs 160 to 170 all the time and fan rarely kicks in.
