Army took care of that one as opposed to most 1081s. I would run some diesel conditioner though it before I messed with the cat. Mine smoke a little too when you get on them hard.
Does yours still have the turret ring installed?
The fan will freewheel when the engine runs. If the fan clutch is engaged, the fan makes HUGE noise going down the road. What do you think, is the fan super noisy? If so, there are numerous threads here on fixing it, or refer to the Technical Manual.
If it’s too long for your M35A2, which it appears to be, they got it wrong X2, that is for a MTV. If it fits a 12’ bed, you can flip this to a LMTV guy, those are super hard to find.
The sides would not hold up at all, the hinge pins are like 0.25” and the two upper slide latches are from a household door looks like. The bed itself is very strong.
Ok one thing you need to be aware of, one alternator has to have an isolated negative , it’s a special unit not available at Auto Zone. You can convert a standard one over, but it’s easier to just fix your bad alternator with a new regulator, which is the same.
1. Yes on the WTEC II the shift selector and the trans ECU are the same box. If volts were low, you would get a code for that.
2. No such dedicated wire
3. Numerous solenoids in the transmission open valves which directs hydraulic pressure to clutches. Nothing wrong with them.
