You never want to use heat on a part that you want to reuse. Those are "hardened" gears and the heat will cause them to loose their temper. It's been a while since I removed a set at the shop. We had a 50 ton press and it would do the job.
Are you using the spacers like the picture shows ? You need to use them as the gear can get wedged into the housing if you don't. Also this gear can take a lot of persuasion to come off. Are you using a 20 ton press ?
Thanks Guy ! So what number does Generac list these parts under ? I did call "Dewey" and like I mentioned they only sell to the military. I'll give "Baldor" a call in the morning and see if they can help me.
I love my little MEP-531 . The only problem I've found so far is parts. I need new brushes and brush holders and you just cannot find them. I've called all over including "Green Mountain" , nothing. I even called the factory. They don't sell to civilians but they do have a retailer in Florida...
Yes. I've used it for years. Great stuff! In fact I believe I mentioned using it on the "air" side of my air-pack rebuild. (At least I think I remember the new number was "111" . They stopped using the number "G" I believe) . It's one of only a few greases that will hold up and not cause any...
Don't use POR-15 on any hot surface. If you want your generator to look nice then "Eastwood" sells a exhaust manifold paint that I've personally used. It lasts for about a year on a truck driven daily, so your generator manifold might last for several years.
I totally agree. Yes I keep saying "this was my last post" but I was getting dragged back in.
Like I've said all along, I don't want misinformation getting out here.
I've seen that hose your referring too "texas30cal" and it is a good one. "Motion Industries" will sell by the foot, you just...
Those are some good looking parts ! Really love that you used stainless Steel. I worked for 10 years as a metal fabricator in my youth, and they made products for the Alaskan Fishing Fleet. I learned all about the advantages of using Stainless Steel.
To bad it is so expensive or we could have...
I also love "mechanical" solutions. That is why I really love "NORD" locks .
I've bought almost every size available from my "Tacoma Screw" store. Yes they are pricey, but man can they "HOLD" !!!!!!
