Often times you can fix a "boogered" thread with a knife edge file. The cutting edge on that sort of file comes down to less than 1/8th of an inch and you can carefully clean up the threads if you take your time.
Another idea is a thread chaser that does the same job as the knife edge file -...

I'm sure that I spent more time than a normal electrician when I wired my house. The inspector was even impressed. Romex cable was all turned with the writing down. No twists, all nice and neat... The breaker panel was almost as neat as these VERTEILUNG panels. Only thing he wanted was to...

And a three phase panel is the same deal. 1,2,3 would equal 120+120+120 or three phase power. The breaker panel and how it is designed is how that works. Breakers for that are "clustered" into threes.

Or you could ask one of the moderators to move and rename your thread to something like 1953 Air Force GMC 452-30 or something similar.
Just use the "Report" button and ask to have it moved.
The guys generally respond to that sort of stuff pretty quickly.
I could report it but if YOU do...

That red button powers a "split rear axle". Brand. Who knows, but I would guess there will be a tag on the side of the rear end. Short version is that most times - unless really heavily loaded - you can run in low (button down) and shift to high when you are making about 40/45.

My M1089 had a heck of a problem with "standing up" from the stowed position. Extending the boom, then rocking it back and forth made it work. Using LOTS of WD-40 on those two uprights finally made it start working as it should. You might spray a few cans of WD on everything that moves on...

Welcome to the Outfit!
Nice looking vehicle...
So, somebody here has to be the "TM Nag" and this week it is me  . You found Steel Soldiers and now we want you to find the "-10" (operators guide) for your machine. Little things in there - like how to avoid frying your glow plugs -...

Welcome to the Outfit!
Glad to have you here - and now you have your first pictures posted... As you go along, keep taking pictures and posting. Makes a pretty amazing timeline. You can even say "way back when" I did this or that.
Be sure to have the TM's downloaded and saved. That way...

This is a great writeup for the M37 @ODAddict !
Lots of nice pictures too!
Happily, when I push the clutch peddle on my truck - the brake peddle doesn't move. A little grease regularly keeps them happy. Way back when, we used to have the parts (shaft and bushings) readily available in the...

Diesel's need to be parked in neutral. Bumped and Starting on its own just isn't something you want to have happen. You could use wheel chocks to keep the vehicle from moving.
Question is: Does your have a State Safety Inspection? In North Carolina for example, the parking brake has to be...

Those plastic lines work. It mostly depends on you and how long you will own that truck. If you go back with DOT certified rubber line and the hose fittings will need to be the same - you won't be fixing leaks in a few years. Those plastic line fittings are surprisingly expensive. Having...
