    Got another Deuce! ('70)

Mine in the past started with just a bad head gasket. Then since I was going to have to buy a head gasket set, I might as well have the valves done. Then since the valves where done I should put new rings on the pistons or they could start passing oil. Since the pistons where out I might as well...

    Puking power steering pump?

If your steering gear had been plugged you would have found that out the first time you tried turning the wheel !

    1954 Studabaker REO rear window

Maybe I will try the "home glass" people then. I went to several "hot rod" shops and they all said the same thing. They don't cut laminated glass. Also no one knew where I could find that molding.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I've never had a problem getting to the bleeder screws. Just use my regular line wrench.

    Deuce alignment

Are you sure your torque rod bushings are in good shape ? If their loose they can cause this kind of problem. In a good bushing, the rubber will help to pull or push the rod into correct alignment. Also are the rods themselves straight ? If their bent or twisted they can cause problems. Trust me...

    Deuce alignment

Center your steering wheel, then adjust the Tie-Rod ends to give you the proper Toe-in. On the Deuce you can go from 1/16" to 1/8" toe-in. (unless your running radials which your not) .

What did you do to your deuce this week?

If you tighten up the lug nuts properly the wheel will "seat" itself and then you can lower it to the ground to really torque the lug nuts.

    1954 Studabaker REO rear window

Here's a side by side of the two rear windows. I own three 1952 REO's (I was wrong about the dates ) . All came from different people. This one I installed on my 1988 deuce was from an Air-Force Decontamination Unit. All original. The cab supports are about 4 inches from the edge of the glass...

    1954 Studabaker REO rear window

I've called all the ones here on the Eastside (Bellevue, Kirkland, Woodinville, Renton, Kenmore) and a ton in Seattle proper. All said the same thing.

I'm surprised you didn't go with the heater box retrofit. I love all the extra space mine gives me.

    Puking power steering pump?

You probably still have air in the system. It is "burping" out the air causing the fluid to come out. Then when you go to check it, it still shows low fluid levels. My truck took two weeks to get all the air out of the system the last time I had to play with the steering pump. At the time I...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I also like the "rocks" for support ! I know this is suppose to be a "field expedient" measure, but rocks ! Really ?!?!?! Just carry some wood blocks if nothing else. Of course a jack-stand would be the preferred safest way. Also you "never" torque the lug nuts with the truck wheel in the air...

    1954 Studabaker REO rear window

Actually no. Most automotive glass shops use premade windows and cannot cut any glass that is laminated. I've been down this road now for two years looking. Also the molding is totally outdated and no longer used. I've tried every shop and store from NAPA to Summit racing. From "specialty" glass...

Deuce rollover angle - useful if you want to mount an inclinometer

I got some for when I'm towing the camper trailer. That way I know when I've found a good place to set up the trailer. Preferably a level area !
