That part of the discussion was almost at the end of the article - and it really helped it all make sense to me. And the talk about rails joining at bridges - that thought never really crossed my mind until reading. That mass of concrete for the bridge abutment and rail joining it where some...

The military version of the radios seem to be powered directly from the battery box.
May not have anything to do with your problem - but what if - the difference in your case is Grounding?

So... I keep looking and I haven't found any hard evidence of required annual replacement of air brake diaphragms.
For many years, I worked on a small fleet of trucks that dragged trailers. Those trailers hauled military vehicles used to build steel high lines. Basically we built electric...

But that locomotive is hot.
It makes a lot of noise.
It bumps and thumps and the wheels go clickety-clack down the rails.
I can't watch my videos with all that noise.
Is it all push button controls?
I can't possibly be expected to have to drive that train all day...
Did you say there is...

@4x4nutz ,
The most difficult thing about the TM's is learning the nomenclature. These books are not going to keep you awake if you try to sit down and try to read them from cover to cover. I started out with a M936. It's a 5-Ton wrecker. Nothing special, just a big green truck... I...

Not a lot of folks are willing to say that the Army (Navy, Marines, or even the Air Force) spoiled them.
Exception to that is food in the Navy.
Coffee always on.
No lack of good food.

It would benefit you and the truck to "rotate the batteries" maybe twice a year. I'm concerned that maybe you have a weak cell in the 11.9 battery. Might be worth taking them both out and go to your local Auto Zone, Pep Boys, or whatever parts house and have them load test your batteries...

USMC trucks, M939 Series in particular that are to be used in the salt water look like the entire bottom of the truck was sprayed with silicone. Like RTV sprayed on every bolt and connection. Sea Bees vehicles are the same way...
It is a miserable existence trying to replace a transfer case...

Can you imagine the guy (engineer?) talking to the Beet Farmer...
Uh, yeah. I'd like to buy a 55 gallon drum of Beet Juice from you.
And the farmer thinks the engineer is off his rocker.
Wonder how much dirt it takes to grow that many Beets?
.
Definitely for weight.
I was just mentioning tractors and the possibility of rusty rims...
Beet Juice seems pretty amazing.
Makes you wonder who came up with that idea!
.
Wow @Lostchain !!
That is pretty amazing. I went out to poke around and see what who had to say about Beet Juice - and dang if it isn't exactly what we might need to be using. That stuff is definitely what should be used in Tractor tires... Good down to -35f so it has anti freezing...
.
I just can't think of anything to say other than WOW! and then WHY!?
The first excavator got stuck.
Okay, but how did it get buried that deep in the muck.
Then the second excavator is in just as deep.
There is nothing like a friend who is willing to help. That is for sure and certain...
.
@Third From Texas , Nice information. Explains a lot of weird rust.
My question now is tractors... Farm Tractors. A lot of them run water (anti-freeze) in the rear tires for weight. Guessing that would make an expensive rim replacement down the road. No CTIS on them. Sealed system just...

On an air tank - when you cut it open - then weld it back the coating gets burned off where the welding happens. And then too there is the quality of the weld. On pipelines, those welds are X-Rayed. Thinking out loud, are those little air tanks - the ones that are keeping the 80,000 pounds...
.
You have definitely been steady at it...
This is really going to be an amazing ride when you are finished.
Can't wait to see it back from the blasting shop!
