That's what I just finished this summer. Last year I replaced all the cab mounts and this year all the spring bushings. Your right about any OEM bushing being bad. My truck has 50,000 original miles on it but "every" bushing on it was SHOT Rubber will not last more then 20 years. I don't care...
It's very easy to talk now. My M1028 is actually louder now with it's new low restriction mufflers. Of course you cannot roll-down the windows or open the front windshield and talk.
Just so you know I also put DynaMat in the doors. That really helped with the vibration noise on the road.
I almost went with a 454 engine in mine, but the lack of fuel economy made me go with the 383 Hi-Torque instead. My best friend has the 454 and he gets 8 miles a gallon. Towing or coasting down a hill only 8 miles per gallon ! He was the one who convinced me in the end. I really liked the idea...

Your buddy installed a MEP-003 in a bus conversion ?!?!?! With almost no sound ? To tell you the truth that sounds insane ! Why on earth waste that much weight (800 Ibs) capability with a huge ass generator ?
As a bus mechanic I can tell you that you do not want to isolate that rear engine...
Home Depot sells a heavy garage mat that I plan on using for the floor. It will have to go in in sections though since the hump is not a perfect square.
I know the results are not that good but I still need to finish installing the rear window and there are several gaps on the firewall (like the steering column area) that need covering. I have a hard top and did install DynaMat there too. I also need to install a heavy floor-mat. Also my door...
