MEP-002A No Fuel and DC Breaker Popping

You can find the correct one without the suppressors on them or needing bushings. I don't remember the model number off-hand but their out there. If I remember correctly there were 3 models to chose from. They just had different working pressures. Anyone of them would work for the generator...

Question for the experienced - 24V alt. In CUCV

Yes the Vanner is a bit expensive but it is the best on the market and is a very dependable and long lasting unit. Unlike cheaper models that don't have the quality of components the Vanner has. I have also seen some on eBay going for a very reasonable price. Just like "NovacaineFix" said, I...

Question for the experienced - 24V alt. In CUCV

Actually running a "Vanner" equalizer you will not get a battery imbalance as it charges each battery individually giving each one just what it needs. Buses through-out the country use this system and it is very dependable.

    break in

Your so right cattlerepairman ! There was a logging company clearing my neighbors land a few years ago. Like most companies they would leave their equipment there at the property overnight. One night some thieves came and stole some smaller equipment and then for fun set the "skidder" on fire...

    bad 14 bolt

Your assuming the locker is OK. With all that material floating around the differential I would doubt it. Again we are talking about a trashed differential. Would you buy it for $500.00 ?

MEP-002A No Fuel and DC Breaker Popping

I have used both and the "square style" is not even close to the quality of the "Facet Gold" round body style. You can find them for $100.00 even at this Pegasus auto racing store.

best way to level 1986 m1009

They also used precision built machines that had extremely tight tolerances to check frames. The naked eye cannot see everything and sometimes it can be deceived by angles. "Parallax" comes to mind off hand. Also snapping lines on the concrete is fine if the concrete slab is truly level. I have...

    CUCV-II, South Florida Rebuild

The NP202 is a great transfer-case but extremely hard to find ! Plus parts would be next to impossible to get new.

    CUCV-II, South Florida Rebuild

Actually all you need is the "divorced" Ford NP205 transfer-case and a crossmember to mount it to. Then just have your drivelines made up. No need to go all crazy modifying the transfer-case and transmission. Also you will need the tail-housing and output shaft out of a 2WD 4L80E transmission .

    bad 14 bolt

The 14 bolts are very common. Now if it was a DANA 70HD that would be a different matter and a whole lot more money ! A trashed 14 bolt might get $100.00 here in Washington if your lucky.

Question for the experienced - 24V alt. In CUCV

If you get a 24 volt alternator then remove the 12 volt alternator and only use the 24 volt one. Then get a "Vanner" battery isolator/equalizer and run you 12 volt needs off that. That's what our busses do.

Get a NP205. Then you will never have to worry about it going out again.

    break in

At one of the shops I worked at, they had big sliding doors and the thieves could get in by "pushing" the door ends and squeezing past. To combat this the shop installed steel angle iron (1/2" thick) into the concrete floor so when the door was closed it was wedged between the wall and this...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I agree, the absence of the transfer-case to engine rod can cause a lot of troubles for a truck that is worked hard. It really adds a lot of structural strength to the transmission. Also the front cover to engine mount rods is very important too.

MEP-002A No Fuel and DC Breaker Popping

If your battery connections are not good they can cause the suppressors to go out. I had a sparking connection on my MEP-002 when I first got it. It blew the suppressors.
