. My M1088 has a hole cut in the top - where a turret should have been. Self Contained AC runs off an Inverter. Just couldn't make myself paint it green...

Advice needed - new guy with MEP004A

. You definitely have a nice looking machine. Lots of scuffing and blasting and painting - but it looks better than the day it was delivered to the Army .

    Girlfriend in the next town

. Rhino 5/4 , Looks like you made it home safe. Yeah, for all the comments we all made I guess we skipped over the idea that the towing vehicle needs (should be) bigger than what you were towing. Best part is that nothing bad happened - AND - you won't likely do that again. The rotating...

Hmmm..do you like low flying aircraft?....then here ya go!

. Had to snag a couple of pictures out of that video. Pretty neat... If you didn't know exactly what it was - that turn to inbound - and angling down low could sure make your heart race!

    CHUCKY'S TREE HOUSE !

. So far all I have come up with is Old Wild Women V. I came up with Ornery for a possibility... The V, well I came up with something for that - but it might not be PG rated... Was hoping somebody might come up with a better idea.

    M1008 Build

. Agreed! On my 83 (plain Chevy truck) pumped full of gas, I could drive for a week before the needle moved off of full. Not a long ride to work, so that seemed reasonable to me. @DIVE DIVE, I think the measurements that you have done are pretty useful. Now you know that at a Quarter Tank -...

    North Carolina

. Hi Vince, Welcome to the Outfit! I had no idea where Winterville is/was, so I went and poked the web and found it close to Greenville NC. Sorry you are so close to Raleigh. Not much of anything comes out of there. Just taxes and legislation that isn't very useful. :-( If you get a chance to...

New to me Deuce with matching trailer - wrenching post

. It really is amazing how buying better quality tools make life so much better... Even that can be the old "Good, Better, Best" proposition. Having FUN doing a project and not fighting the tools - well - it just makes the job easier. Glad it worked out well for you. Vacation is a good thing...

Is it the end of the world? Latest GP auction prices.

. @Warhound_01 You also mentioned Pacific North West... Might be worth reading the thread below. Got a MV Rally (Show) that might be a good place to meet people with similar interests and parts for sale. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/pnw-info-thread.77974/page-115#

Is it the end of the world? Latest GP auction prices.

. Welcome @Warhound_01 ! Welcome to the Outfit! Be sure to create yourself a thread in the HMMWV section with pictures of your new-to-you truck. Maybe snag one or two of the auction pix and then when you go pick it up. Heck, might even take pictures if you go recover it yourself... Anyhow...

Less than 18 months and under 1,000 miles my axle boots failed.

. If they were NOS (New Old Stock) parts, problem could have just been stored in unconditioned space. Not especially with good temperature and humidity control - and in the dark - not exposed to UV (think fluorescent lighting). Just a guess. Or like @John S-B suggested where maybe you got a...

What have you done to your MTVR today?

. Wow!! That is great news. Anything you can share about what it took to solve the problem? Oh, and by the way - have you tried attaching a Conex to the bed of your truck? With the bottom pins that could (in theory) hold it in place?

    Hydrolocked, big repair ahead.

. When you open the TM in PDF format, search with "FIND" on a mobile device or CTRL + F on a laptop or desktop computer. Then when you are looking for "359F" the computer can do all the work. It is a real PAIN to hunt down anything in these thousand page books without using search... @Action...

    AAR-50353-001 & AAR-50353-002 Mobile shops units

. Most are insulated. Especially "workshops" and "communications shacks". Generally it is roughly 2 inches thick and when the guys at the yard skewer it with the forklift, it becomes obvious. Some of the ISO Containers are also insulated as well.
