    New member

. Since you are a New Member, we need to also tell you Welcome to the Outfit! The suggestion from @Guyfang is definitely a good idea - to get more exposure (eyeballs on the subject). There is also a thread about one of our members that built sleeping quarters in a trailer like yours - and it...

    M1009 in its natural environment

. She is nice looking - out there in the woods. Truck looks happy. Hopefully the driver was too!

    FLU419 Front loader

. Sad to say yes. I have read many times in these forums that "a full bucket" isn't going to be lifted. To be honest, I am not sure why or don't remember the details of why. Glad you were able to lift the front end using the bucket.

    FMTV Shock Absorbers

. Thinking about that... What about the addition of some sort of shock absorber. Only reason I ask is that having a dimwitted friend back in high school who took OFF the absorbers of his car. He would hit a bump, and the thing would bounce down the road for several minutes... A double bump...

    M-37 Starts Hard When Cold

. Yeah. Duh. I forgot about that part. Found a discussion thread about that. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/24v-ignition-coil.177693/

    M-37 Starts Hard When Cold

Thinking about it... What about a spare coil? Do you have one or could you get your hands on a new one? Doesn't even have to fit in the holder well. Just to see if maybe yours is weak? Quick search looks like a Ford or a Chevy coil can be had for about $25/$35 and shipping.

What did you do to your trailer today.

. @Tinstar , I have to ask... You mentioned restoring the Craftsman vice on your trailer. Also mentioned that you had restored it to be outside permanently. I have a M1089 and part of the setup is a vice up between the tool boxes. I keep it spray with WD40 to keep the "screw" limber and...

    M201b1 1962 revival.

. Again... I have to say that is darn good work. Skills. Hard to get, but really rewarding when you use them!

    M37 Acceration problem

. Point Gap should be .020 as best I recollect. A matchbook cover thickness works well. While you have the cap off, turn it over and see if the contacts are good an clean. No white fuzzy stuff in there... And the rotor button should be clean too. Does the button in the center of the cap...

How many HMMWVs are still in the pipeline to be auctioned?

. More power to you @TMOMW ! 40 is not too many of anything - except wives!

Has anyone priced paint recently? Prices are insane

. Agreed. Back in the day there was Dupont Imron and it was the best thing there was for painting cars with a nice shine (IMO). That was NOT cheap stuff!

    Exhaust heat wrap

. Summit Racing has plenty of it for the intended purpose. Not sure if you are trying to keep the heat in on the exhaust system - OR - if you are trying to protect a short length of brake line that runs close to the exhaust. Only concern I would have is protecting a brake line could...

    M998 turbo conversion

. Nice and hefty! I never got around to getting one of those pickers. I still have my A-Frame made out of 4 inch round pipe. I inherited it from my uncle, so I painted it and upgraded from the manual chain-fall to and electric. Pulled many a motor with it... • I don't have my old scope...

OUT AND ABOUT WITH MY HMMWV

. Wow!! That is a FIRST CLASS cooker! You just can't beat having a woman that loves to cook.

    FLU419 Front loader

. Roll the bucket to max forward, Lift and have at it. (EDIT: Properly set check valves should not allow the bucket to lift the front of the FLU) Thanks @Speedwoble You should bring some (get some) blocks to hold up the truck - in case of a hydraulic failure. You don't want to die because you...

OUT AND ABOUT WITH MY HMMWV

. I thought BBQ's beef was the only choice in the great state of Texas. Somehow, I had visions of Sesame Beef (no chicken), Beef Lo Mein, Beef Egg Roll, Teriyaki Beef, Beef Fried Rice, Beef Rice Soup, Beef Noodle Soup, Sweet & Sour Beef, Beef & Broccoli, Kung Po Beef, Szechuan Beef, Hunan...

What did you do to your trailer today.

. Neat! An old railroad cart... Or at least the four that I have came from there. From over on Tryon Street many many moons ago. I never saw what they used to drag the carts around with on the rail platform. Nice vice setup! If you end up going to a saw mill, I have found over the years...

Rebuilding after 15 years of storage

. That is true of even the better cars these days. Everything is maid out of beer cans and held together with bubblegum and bailing wire.

Advice needed - new guy with MEP004A

. Nice to know! I have used gas the same way - but the possible hazard for that isn't going to happen with soapy water! Same purpose. Never thought about soapy water. THANKS for the tip!

Advice needed - new guy with MEP004A

. Wow. It is 79 with 69% humidity and I had been grumbling about hot and sticky today when I was out delivering packages... Seems to me that it is too early for that - but spring doesn't seem to be but a few weeks long now days. I'v noticed that the yellow jackets and wasps around here are...
