    Survival 109 build

My Mag-Drill is the older Milwaukee and weighs in at over 30Ibs ! Now that I'm all old and decriped I can barely hold it in place to align it ! I need one of the small newer models. Of course now I cannot afford it !

best diesel motor oil for a MEP-802A ? Climate range 10 to 80 degrees

I run the Delo 400 15-40 full synthetic. In fact I just bought a gallon today ! When ever it goes on sell I buy some. I also use the Rotella synthetic. Which ever is on sell at the time gets used . I use full synthetic since I don't want to be replacing oil ever month. This way I only replace it...

    Bonedoc's M35A2 modification thread

I also had to replace the engine oil fitting. When I went to replace the hose the old brass fitting snapped off flush with the engine block ! So I replaced it with a stainless steel fitting. Now with the PTFE stainless steel hose and stainless steel fitting I shouldn't have to deal with these...

    Bonedoc's M35A2 modification thread

I went with some PTFE stainless steel hose just like the air lines and fuel hoses. The ends are just standard AN fittings.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

You didn't know I replaced it years ago after the fire ? I just got tired of constantly working on that blasted thing ! I put in a 383 Hi-Torque crate engine. It has more power and better torque then the 6.2 ever had. I also replaced a lot of exterior trim like the bumpers with nice chrome...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

After installing the extra power steering cooler I decided to replace all the return hoses with "Parker Hi-Temp" hose and install hose "flex" armor on all the hoses. The Flex armor is a 1/8" thick heavy duty plastic wrap that you install over the hose. Now my hoses can handle 500 degrees and...

    Armored Spot lights

Since I have the truck up on stands working on the front springs I thought I would take this opportunity to fix some electrical problems and also install these extra armored lights I got for my deuce. I ordered some PAR36 12volt spotlights and installed them in the lights. Since my bumper is not...

1985 CUCV M1009: Best replacement transmission

That is a cool device ! I think I might buy one for my Deuce ! Driving around here with all the stupid hills and heavy traffic is a nightmare sometimes ! If your towing something it is even more stressful ! Now with my bad knees trying to hold in the clutch and then slip the brake and hit the...

    Uses for Deuces

That's great ! You don't even realize how you hit it on the head with that picture of "Conan" ! I collect books and have all of Robert E. Howards books. Which include the "Conan" series ! Almost all are in the original "Lancer" editions. I know, my "Geek" is showing !

Have you tried "Bondo" ? My good buddy did that on his camper and it worked fine.

How long does fuel stabilizer last??

If you went with a "centrifuge" unit then it would take out most all the particles even down to 1 or 2 microns. Again the cost of one of these units is a bit much for the average user. If you had a complete bulk fuel system and ran "WMO" then I would buy one. For just a small system a simple...

    Deuce Coolant Hemorrhage (LEAK)

I also replaced all my hoses at the same time. I went with all silicone hoses except for the radiator hoses which I bought at "Eriks" . I still might replace the radiator hoses with some nice custom silicone hoses like Hank did. Silicone lasts so long I'll be dead and buried before they go bad.

    Uses for Deuces

Probably metric from some "furr-en-our" car. Don't worry about me busting your chops about driving Fords. I actually own and have owned almost every major manufactures vehicle at one time. I still have a Ford Crown Vickey, two Chevy's, a Subaru, several International Harvesters, a Honda...

1985 CUCV M1009: Best replacement transmission

To bad your on the other side of the nation. Out here they come at a premium. Of course your vehicles don't last as long as ours do with all that salt on the roads. Might almost be worth it to take a trailer out there and buy up some good running TH4L80-E transmissions. Now if you had some nice...

1985 CUCV M1009: Best replacement transmission

Since my knee replacement I don't like manuals much anymore. Plus towing a trailer and slipping the clutch and brake on a hill in busy traffic is not fun !

    Inexpensive camper/utiliy box for m35a2

WOW ! That looks assume ! I wonder though, if you had to do it all over again would you still use the camper or would you just build from scratch ? I mean you totally gutted that thing and basically rebuilt it.

    Inexpensive camper/utiliy box for m35a2

I've driven one of his 900's . It is a really nice truck ! If I had $8000.00 burning a hole in my pocket I'd buy it !
