I'm going to warn you, if there is some hard parts damaged this is going to get expensive fast ! Did you get a quote from the mechanic ? A usual rebuild will go for over $2000.00 .

Found out torque wrench is not accurate *after* rear main seal job

I understand totally ! I had to have them for my work so that's why I have so many for one and also why I only use "Snap-On" . Come-backs are a pain in the butt ! Just a side note for those who don't like "double clickers" . A good torque wrench will not increase the torque if you double or...

Found out torque wrench is not accurate *after* rear main seal job

I also own "Degree" wheels for those torques that require that. For example, torque to 140 ft Ibs and then 20 degrees more. Also all manuals will list how the bolt or stud is to be torqued, be it threads dry or lubed.

Total brake failure during a panic stop

Every 6 months our busses must pass a brake safety inspection. One of the tests is to take it out back and get the speed up to 20 mph then slam on the brakes. We have a nice testing device that measures brake force and total "G" force. We have to do 3 passes. All busses must pass at .500 "G"...

    M35A3 accelerator pedal adjustment

Your torque converter might be bad. The "lock-up" valve is controlled by engine RPM and vehicle speed. It's in the main valve body. Actually there could be a host of problems in your transmission. Low oil pressure due to bad seals or your oil pump or regulating valve. Valve body dirty causing...

Found out torque wrench is not accurate *after* rear main seal job

OK don't get me wrong I too have bought tools from Harbor Freight but I would never buy any measuring tool (dial indicator, calipers, micromters) or critical torque tool from them. I own only "Snap-On" torque wrenches and "Starrett" and "NSK" micrometers. My torque wrenches go from 30 in Ibs to...

    Valence's M66 Gun Ring

There's also a bottom rubber channel from Erik's, but I haven't torn apart the side door/window to see how or where this one fits, or if it's only applicable as an internal window part... Item# 7373301 http://www.eriksmilitarysurplus.com/siwibosuruch.html The door glass actually fits into this...

Gas motor.. 12 volt .. & painless wiring harness

Here a few pictures of my 383 engine. It has more torque then the old 6.2 and better mileage too. I had to make some adapters for the radiator hoses and a few other little tweeks here and there but overall I'm very glad I did this engine swap.

Gas motor.. 12 volt .. & painless wiring harness

I replaced my 6.2 years ago with a nice 383 cid Hi-Torque engine. I got tired of all the stuff going south on that engine. After the electrical fire I totally gutted the truck bought the crate engine and rebuilt the transmission and transfer-case. It runs great now ! I'll take some better...

    M35A3 accelerator pedal adjustment

The modulator valve is adjusted with the oil pan off. The cable actuator just pushes the modulator in and spring pressure pushes back. On the valve body there are pins that hold the valves in the bore. These pins seat against a plug that has a series of "steps" on them. By turning the plug to...

    In radiator engine oil cooler

I few more pictures showing my dual stick TC levers and my new "NoShok" transmission pressure gauge. I'm also trying to find another electrical gremlin in my dash. I have bought 5 dash panels so far and everyone seems to have some glitch. Very annoying ! I suppose I should just bite the bullet...
