Unless the person you bought it from did a fluid change to ATF, the Allison should still have engine oil in it. I would not worry about 2 quarts low. I would also not recommend driving more than 12 hours without a night's rest. Recipe for disaster.
Assuming you have the waterproof distributor, remove the 6 screws that hold the cover on. The you will see the condenser there, it is held on with a small screw, don't let that screw fall down into the advance underneath. You will have to loosen the nut on the stud where the wire connects with...
Confirming, the pump stalls out when attempting to lift BOTH the cab and spare tire mount? If it's just the cab, can you see the safety indicator extend on the cab latch? If not the latch could be stuck, preventing the cylinder from raising the cab.
My question would be, is the truck fixable with a front clip? Slap some 383 green on it and you got a CUCV II clone. I am in awe of my '00 Chevy 3500 4x4 with the same powertrain.
Start with new points and condenser. If that does not fix it, replace the coil with a NOS unit even if it is used or old. Don't buy a new shiny chinese coil.
-10 is operators, -20 is organizational maintenance, and -34 is depot maintenance. Add a "P" suffix, and that is a parts manual with parts available to that level of maintenance activity.
I love my M915, but anyone that uses one will quickly find there is nearly no place to stow anything, other than the floorboard and under the passenger seat. It is so lame to have your chains straps and binders, tool box, etc piled high on the floorboard. So SS member av8or to the rescue. He...
I would assemble a kit of all the high mortality parts in the air brake and hydraulic systems since all those p/n are now available buried in threads here. You will need them sooner or later.
Suprman, just to be clear: When you release the parking brake, air is sent to the parking brake chamber which compresses the spring and retracts the shoes. Later when you apply the service brakes, air is applied to the service chambers which actuates the shoes.
Actually, the platform behind the cab (porch?) is not supposed to have a box or spare carrier. Looks like a transplant from a 5 ton. If you do cut off the tractor stuff, I call dibs on the ramp. PM me when you are ready.
Your USA number, 4J4520, tells me your truck is a 1966-67 like all the others made by Kaiser. It also originally did not have an alternator, another indication it is not a 1970's truck. Not a big deal, just though you might be interested in knowing.
