Thanks for posting this Scott. Is this from the A1P1 TM? Item 15 from the illustration is available, and it appears to fit the 3116 (see my earlier post with pictures).
Welcome LMTVJunky. Steelsoldiers is turning into the go-to resource for FMTV troubleshooting, and your contributions are welcomed! Try to post lots of pics and civi-equivalent part numbers. Dig around in the "P" suffix TM's, you will be able to determine if the winch trucks had a different...
No axle gear sets other than stock are available. The 302 is governed at 3400 RPMs and it takes all of that to get the 135 moving at 58 mph. Gonna take a lot of overdrive to keep the Cat alive at 80 mph you seek. GMCs with bad engines can be had for a lot less in the US.
Holy thread resurrection Batman! Have I owned my 916 for 6 years now? Actually I have come to like the 7155, as opposed to my thread title. JRM917, to swap it out will require a donor truck in a wrecking yard that is equipped with the 855 CID Cummins, and the transmission you want. Grab the...
Here is the drivers side bracket we seem to be getting wrapped around the axle about. Guys, this is the biggest mystery facing FMTV-dom, so lets work together to get cool air! I had posted this in another thread. The bracket is not the only thing needed (by far) to make the interior console work.

If you keep the new cylinder's bores similar to the present ones, you should get about the same amount of force. Larger bores will give you greater force. Either way, you will need to enlarge your reservoir at the pump to store the additional fluid needed for longer or larger cylinders.
Your transfer is fine. It is equipped with a inter-axle differential which allows the front and rear axles to spin at different speeds when cornering. With the front axle disconnected, the front output spins free. HL is the "Lock" position that couples the front and rear axles together.
On my LDS I used the oil pickup lines from a LD and the bellhousing. I just turned the oil pan 180 degrees, and did not have to mess with the oil pump. You will also need the power steering pump blank off cover from the LD. What can get tricky is that there were several types of front engine...
I had the misfortune today to drive the LMTV on an area of ground I thought would be just fine to drive on. The pictures tell the story. The unloaded but heavy LMTV (L, really??) pushed the MVTs 12" or more into the wet ground. I had the Allison in "mode" and as the sinking in got worse I...
