I wondering about those pistons myself. To get every cylinder to have the same amount of low compression tells me there is one common denominator that is the culprit.
It's your engine working harder with that overdrive. There will be a little more heat generated with the overdrive in the torque converter but most is really from the engine. Have you ever hand cranked a meat grinder ? When there is no load it turns really easy, but start adding meat and then it...
No, your doing it right. You always use engine compression to help slow down a truck. You just must be "very" careful when doing this in a Deuce with a multifuel engine as it CANNOT be over revved ! Always watch your Tach when using engine compression to slow down. Some here don't like to take...
OK there is something wrong at this site concerning uploading pictures. I just tried to upload 10 pictures and only 6 came through. They all did the same thing, hit the upload button wait about 5 minutes and then the picture appears. Except in the case of the last four nothing appeared !
Well...
I checked the specs on the Wix filter 46845. It does not fit the housing. I found another filter from Wix 46908 that is pretty close. The correct filter W250C300 has these dimensions. Height 21" (with gasket), Width 8" and inner diameter of 4.25" (meaning it is 1.75" thick) . The Wix filter has...
We need a picture showing the damaged area. If there is still any threads left in the case then it probably can be repaired or at least sealed with "ATV" sealant.
Thanks Shawn for showing me your install of the filter housing. Where did you get the 5" to 4" adapter ? I'm still cleaning mine up. There was a bit of rust inside I'm trying to remove with "Rust Remover" . It is taking a little longer then expected.
Does anyone know who sells the air-filter for the M35A3 besides the surplus dealers who want over $100.00 each for the filter ? I think I found a filter that might fit from WIX that sells for $60.00 ea but I would really like to use the original if at all possible.
I just got my M35A3 air filter housing. To bad I didn't also get the muffler as now I need to do something with the air filter dust scavenger system. I might just cut off the top part of the housing and cut off the dust collector part and reweld it together.
I received my M35A3 air-filter housing today. It needs a little cleaning up and then I need to mount it to the truck before I can install my second heater unit. First though I need to get a air-filter for it. Does anyone know if "Wix" or "Donaldson" or anyone else for that matter makes a filter...
My wife sure doesn't call it awesome about all the stuff I have boxed up and laying around ! I've been a mechanic for almost 40 years and yes I'm a pack-rat. I love to pickup weird and unique stuff from shops getting rid of old inventory and going out of business. I still have a couple of oil...
