It's a one wire installation. One positive and the ground. The smaller two wires you just tape off and fold back and tape again. They are not used with the new setup. Its that easy.

I think it would be easier to move the non-Generator threads.

Get a NATO slave plug and wire the battery maintainer through it. Easy plug in and quick disconnect from the truck using the slave port.

Replace alternator before it cooks itself and other parts. 74M35A2 will fix you up. I went with the Delco 100A from him and couldn't be happier.

I recovered a M988A1 trailer and the trip was 900 miles. Completed 5 trips now of almost 1000 miles each in mine. Maintained properly, The trucks can handle it. No sweat

You lucked out getting home in one piece. Everyone's correct. Truck can pull it no sweat. Stopping is the issue. Your comment of "reasonably well" tells a lot. If something had happened.....the lawyers would have had a field day. Just because you could do it, doesn't mean you should...

Did anyone here have the issues with their assigned CUCVs in Desert Storm like mentioned in this article? Wonder if this was some of the reason why CUCVs were phased out earlier than expected.

What is your voltmeter reading when the belts are squealing? Have you ran out of belt adjustment?
