Nice. You will love the way she runs with the fuel turned up. Just be real care full when you adjust the twin nuts on the main fuel control. Very thin wrench on the inner nut and don't let the wedge shaft stud turn or both nuts turn at the same time. That shaft will snap with very little force...
Also with a air brake trailer / truck hooked up correctly if there was a complete break away the trailer parking brake would stop the trailer.
There are things you take a chance at in life. One being do I eat the gas stations frozen meat burritos? The other is do I chance killing someone and my...
That is what I am finding out when I do a google search. Is there a number stamped into the master cylinder. All the pics of the Ford 1980-1998 F700 master looks close to what might be on the trucks. My A3 has been sitting for years now and will most likely need some TLC. Looking at the possible...
Yep lots of good stuff out there funny mine is Rectorseal industrial blue. Never had a leak problem and easy to remove if you need too. In this case bypasssing the FDC there is no fuel/oil in play and we are just plugging the ports. Keeps dirt or water out if one was to ever ford. The op will...
A point to bring up is what is correct and what might be done. Myself I would not tow something like that without a truck that could apply the trailer brakes without applying the truck/tractor brakes. This is how you stop the wagging instanly without applying the truck brakes. Yes a air...
Good point and if it was ever to be lift towed it would be the same just the service line on the 809 series. If one was to connect the emergency line and air up the system plus lift tow then the sprag would come into play and not be good.
Two more inverted flair plugs and you could take out the flame heater from the system. Only if you thought it might give you problems. One on the over flow valve T and the last one on the injector return lines.
Has the truck always shifted this way or just started. If I remember you tranmission is governer controled and lock up comes in right after second gear. Some mistake this for a gear shift. If you don't push the peddal to the floor on shifts then it should be shifting around 14/15 maybe 1600rpm...
Correct when you have the old style ball and seat CV joint not the new cross style U joints. Sometimes you have to use your head and know what, why and where to put grease. Now if you had the old style then you pull "both" plugs .
Read both post #4 and #5 of this thread and that will in lighten...
Double post but since it's here I never use Teflon tape on an injection system. I have some liquid stuff called Blue blocker. Also don't waist time trying to undo the lines from the fittings just use side dikes and clip off the lines right at the fittings and as said remove them. At the T...
No pressure of any kind at the FDC when by passed so just use NPT plugs and nothing on the threads just remove the fittings. As for the T on the over flow valve it is inverted flair nothing needed there.
Did you ever try and just unplug the lock up solenoid before you removed and pluged it? Seems like every case I have read about or when I had a 939 series truck the button on the range leaver was the problem. Not saying that is the problem in your case but the Allison dealer might not be up on...
Just remember since we bypassed the FDC the fuel will be turned up. When I get a chance I will come by and we can see / adjust the fuel down some if it is too much.
Allen will post soon about his running truck. He just call me and I think he had a Woodie buy the sound of his voice. Very excited and high pitched voice. Think that comes from fuel leaving one head running to other head.
Won some lights today at Chambersburg and have not paid yet so I do not know what yard they are stored at. Is there still a background check and is that building easy to find? What form if ID do they require? Thanks
We are going to remove the delivery valve so we can check /clean out it's bore. This is my fault as when we had the Head out and off the IP I should have stripped her all the way down and did a good clean out job. Trying to skip around can make more of a problem or thinking there was only one...
