Welcome to the outfit!
Sadly, I know very little about the truck you are working on - but there are a bunch of posts about these trucks.
There are a lot of folks on here that can offer suggestions too.
More details might get more responses too...

Really Neat!!!
That is a first class looking rig - with what appears to be plenty of room considering the small footprint when closed for travel.
I have to ask... Did you build that canvas yourself? From drawings?

The #10 books are the "owners manual" more or less.
-20 books are listed as Maintenance Instructions, Unit Maintenance
-24 books are General Support Maintenance, Repair Parts, and Special Tools
-34 books are Maintenance Instructions, Direct Support and General Support
I am sure there are...
Stand Back everybody... This is a big project here!
Removed the old and added new mirrors.
Don't tell anybody, but I think that spot mirror needs to be replaced too. The ball in the socket is rusted up tight. It looks like the braces could be removed and passed through a blasting cabinet...

Very nicely written Milcommoguy .
There will always be those who want to understand and use "book learning" to figure things out. Then there is the other bunch where things torn into and the book helps put it back together when logic fails. I would be willing to bet that a really high...

Not certain that I am on the right track, but a Web search for the NSN and "Technical Manual" pulled up an Interrogator Set and Antenna-Radome
The link I found is below.

Dang-it-all...
Shame that AC Delco parts are being made in china.
Maybe eventually people can just buy their Chevrolet there and have it shipped over on a boat.
One of these days we are going to get irritated with some foreign country.
Guys are going to walk over to the armory to draw...

Nice! Heck of a welding job there too. There isn't any bubblegum flowing out of your welder!
Just looking at it, it seems beefy enough to drag that truck anywhere you would want to pull it.
I was looking at the bolts and giving them the evil eye, then I went back to read again and...

simp5782 runs the roads pulling a load more frequently than a lot of us. Seems to me that if some sort of fuel additive improved mileage or saved wear and tear - he might be able to weigh in on it.
Somehow, I thought I saw mention of a Multi-Fuel truck early in this thread.
Wonder if the...

For whatever it might be worth, tire stores won't mount a tire with a date code that is more than 10 years old.
Pure logic - no research by me at all - says those folks who could earn a few bucks putting tires on rims aren't saying no without a reason. My GUESS is that there is a DOT...

There should be a flasher - just like a normal truck.

At 29 Palms they always told everybody that it was "a dry heat".
After about a week or so, when you come back and hit the showers - the funk that comes off of you...

Wow! Those are them big old bees! We have those too, but are generally hanging up in a tree and are a lot more rare here
The wasps around here are on paper comb about the size of a ping pong ball. Open something with them in side - and they start giving you the evil eye. The sad part is...

The heat is bad but the humidity here has been pretty miserable.
It has been hot and muggy in the morning and it has started being that way after dark.
The good part of being in the carolinas is that the weather will change in a few days...

Being at either end of a convoy would definitely be "bad mojo" for sure. I think the article that I saw from you mentioned the cover protecting the rubber hoses too. In my situation, that would be worth having for sure. Spent about a thousand bucks on rubber hoses and I still have more to...
.
I saw that not long ago. I think that would be a heck of a good plan! Especially to save the wear and tear on those hydraulic hoses. I have amanaged to replace about half of them so far... All looking like they had a pretty bad case of "sun rot".
I need to look around for a set of Bows.
.
Somebody may have a better comment - but adding fluid to the power steering reservoir and turning it a bit with the truck running should flush out the air. I wouldn't sit there on asphalt and grind the tires left to right though... That works everything related steering awful hard.
.
When those BO lights are turned on running blackout, wearing NVG allows you to see the truck you are preparing to crash in to the back of  . Another light oddity for these trucks is the lollipop lights on the front fender work. They are off if the headlights are on. There is a vendor...
