EDITED (Thanks for clarification cattlerepairman !)

Hose runs up to the wiper, so you should have an air leak and feel an air leak.
Wiper control on and off is (NOT) mounted on the wiper motor.
If you plan to replace the air wipers, following that loose hose to its origin would be the...

Almost certain that the outriggers are not attached to anything electrically powered that would eliminate fluid passage.
By chance, have you had a look at the hydraulic filter? Stopped up maybe?
Tried using a yard stick (or similar length) to drop into the hydraulic tank?

Congratulations on your win!
I am really happy that I was able to help a little. It took effort on your part to create picture posts here and best of all, together we managed to teach an old dog new tricks  Way to go!
One more time - WOW that truck is cool. All that glossy dark...

Lots of these military trucks have used motor oil in the Allison transmission - and that works fine.
SINCE YOU HAVE red ATF already in your transmission, let's use that. Allison spec is Dextron III
.
Could also be worn bearings in the starter motor.
Or there might be a dead spot on the big chunk of metal "rotor" that rotates inside the "fields".
If the hammer solved it, that will be temporary
Those bushings are pretty thin, and when they wear , they have to be replaced before you...

Congrats! The LMTVs are a lot quieter for sure.
Heck, you might even be able to talk to a passenger going down the road!
Be sure to grab a free copy of the TMs (Technical Manuals) listed under the FMTV section!
Lots of good information there.
There is also a spreadsheet for LMTV Engine...

Right... And here we are in the middle of the desert, hidden from the enemy behind a dune - and "Bob" turns on his cell phone - and all hell rains down on us because "Bob" had to check his FaceBook account.
If "Bob" hadn't had a NATO usb charger, maybe he wouldn't have turned on that d@&%...

Wow. So, I almost wonder if you would do better finding a cab in better condition than yours. The hard part about fixing rust will be finding good solid metal to attach your replacement metal to. Spot welding it in place. There are a lot of discussions about rust in the "bodywork" forum...

Agreed and the tough part is that what I might describe something as - may not be written that way in the TM's.
<Ctrl> S to search, type in your term and let Acrobat find things -- sometimes.
Prime example of that for the LMTV manuals:
I searched for "Cab Bushing" and I also tried...

I was rummaging for torque specs recently.
I found a 1990 version of THREADED FASTENERS - TIGHTENING to PROPER TENSION
Military Handbook MIL-HBK-60 (I uploaded it here)
Saw nothing about a kingpin plate in that document though. Seems based on the reading, if the upper bolts and lower bolts...

Nice!
AND you don't have to break your back to get the tire on or off the hanger!
Having that ratcheting binder eliminates hydraulics.
Just a an occasional shot of lube will keep it from getting siezed up.
Heck of a plan...

Nice setup in my mind and (even though I had nothing to do with it) THANK YOU for taking your time to talk with people and showcase your truck. I'd bet there were a bunch of youngsters that talked about "that big truck" for days afterward! Hey, and don't forget to say Thanks to Mom as well...

I have to ASSuME that the "dead around here" could be from vacation season. Even though everybody has been on government imposed vacation for about 16 months.
Awol - I think you are right about some folks being "snitty" with new members. We all need to remember how it was when we started...

As you said, it isn't really a "fix" more of a work around - but a starter button from the local parts house with a couple of alligator clips and a push button could be used.
There are 2 small connectors on the front facing side of the solenoid, on top of the starter. In the civilian...
