READ THIS!!! THIS IS THE ANSWER TO YOUR PROBLEM! This will not cost much. In Texas. the cost is $400 due to the money grubbing DMV not accepting valuations less than $4000 which means you have to pay tax on that amount for a bonded title, even if the truck is crap.

A "GI title" which is a US gov't Standard Form 97 assigned to the seller is USELESS to you, unless the seller is a motor vehicle dealer and can provide a "dealer assignment of title" form.
I think the main data plate is not the correct one. The VIN, 9525-1503X, is a few digits away from my 1968 Kaiser M54A2 W/W, which is 9525-14675. This truck was always a multifuel.

Just for some clarification, the tank pictured in the OP's post was partially restored in Texas and was recently (June 2012) transported to the Museum in Colorado that nomad68 is refering to. It was returned to the US from service in Italy and was demilled before being surplused at Anniston...
Congrats, looks like a keeper. I just rolled over 6000 miles on mine and not a lick of trouble other than the transformer-rectifier. Truck just wants to RUN!
