Hotbox, have you had any luck duplicating the flatness of CARC paint? I have shot just about every milspec color in Sherwin Williams powder and there is always a touch of gloss from the crosslinking you mention.
Ron, so sorry about your loss. I was wondering about the winch before you mentioned it. I think with some new seals, it should be fine. Also the PTO. I would pull those parts before sending the poor 211 to scrap.
I got my 90% Goodyear MVT 395's from GENSCO with warranty for $150 ea. They have every other mil tire under the sun, including hundreds of those 16.00's for $100 ea. They (KMT) have most all the scrap tire contracts and are where all the resellers get tires from. Noflats.com for the phone...
Readyman, you are looking at this all wrong. First of all, the alternative for all these HMWWV's is the crusher. Do you prefer that? Think of all the first responders that will cut their teeth on these vehicles. I was one of those, City Civil Defense, yes we painted them white, but I learned...
The trans won't "freeze up", what starts to happen is gear changes won't happen when you move the lever. Most of the time a shot of oil in the air line will clear this up, that is until the o-rings discussed above are damaged.
I have a similar issue with backing up. Try applying the brakes...
Not good. The high ambient temp does not cause the engine to run hot. Better verify the gauge is functioning properly and make repairs to it or the cooling system.
Are those not called "gin poles"? What you bought is home made, the rebar is a dead giveaway. The poles are easy to make from tube. Word of warning, you have to be really fast with the clutch when you are lifting something, or the cable will pull the poles back over onto the hood. I long...
Wow still has the bead clips on the tires. Those were installed only on very early production, and were removed when tires were replaced. I bet your tires are 1951 dated.
Yes it is easy. Obtain a flasher module, turn signal handle, and interconnecting harness from any late model tactical vehicle. Replace the right rear tail lamp with the same type as is on the left. Run a new wire to right rear, and the two front existing marker lamps. There you will find an...
How many tons is your central system? Also the SEER rating? the 002 can handle a 3 ton but 4 and 5 tons need more LRA's (locked rotor amps) than the 002 is good for.
Memphis does world class rebuilds if that is what the customer asks for. If many years have passed, all bets are off. A stock M35A2 cargo is about 13,000 with the 2000 lb bed, I would guess yours is not more than 20,000 which is doable on a gooseneck trailer.
Welcome to the site. Unless the 331 was transplanted into a former multifuel truck, (not likely) the year you are being told is incorrect. The 331 came from the factory from 1950 to about 1961. Trucks from the 1950's can have all kinds of age related issues, such as degraded torque rod...
If it "runs with a jump", you can send any commercial hauler with a step deck trailer to get it for you. They have a loading ramp. If it does not run, PM "CSMDavis" who can help you out at Shelby. Good luck!
The Camp Shelby 931's bring around 2800. Look for one with the black rebuild tag to the left of the main data plate. These trucks are a bargain. The one I got runs like a champ.
