Did you try U-Ship? I had a car transporter guy move an airborne dump trailer similar to yours 800 miles for like $350 I think is was.
But to answer your question, seems like that would work if you used a zillion straps to tie your trailer to the bouncy car dolly.
Oh nobody cares if you go 1 mile past the farm tag radius. DPS guys and gals not THAT bad. Yeah don't abuse the FMV privilege by hauling trees on a gooseneck.
Here: TxDMV Number | TxDMV.gov
I dug into this real deep back in the day because I really didn't want to go through the hassle of operating authority. Everyone I asked at DPS and TXDMV confirmed that it didn't matter what type of plate I had (including FMV), over 26K you had to have TXDMV...

Guys quit telling her to use a pipe wrench on the winch input shaft! Nothing worse than having that precision machined surface all buggered up, then the yoke won't go on smooth ever again!!!
Oh that is a 5 ton not a deuce. Year is late 1960's. If you need exact year i can try to figure it out. I would put the correct shear pin back in and try to unwind the cable. if the pin breaks, I would put in a steel bolt JUST FOR THE PURPOSES of unwinding the drum, then put the correct pin...
The pin can come from ebay, Memphis Equipment, your home shop. Use aluminum.
Finding someone to wrench for the department can be a challenge. I maintain 3 LMTVs for my VFD. The reason I became a ff is my desire to work on these trucks, try to find someone like me haha. Maybe a vet, maybe a...
When you replace the shear pin, the PTO will be able to unwind the spool. Pry the drive yoke off the winch input shaft and drive the broken piece out. You can also manually unwind the spool by inserting a drift punch in the U-joint and forcing the driveshaft to turn.
The new boxes have solid state devices to switch the glow plugs on and off, not a relay. I would ohm out the glow plugs to start with, maybe they are all burned up.
The manuals you seek are available from Vintage Power Wagons, along with most everything else you need. Get a high limit credit card first. No restoration threads on half tons here that I know of. Sounds like you need to start one!
