Well in that case that is fixable. Remove the dashboard and remove all rust, get a piece of angle iron to back it from underneath, attach it with rivets, epoxy, screws, welding. Prime with cold galvanizing paint, then topcoat.
Is that the tip of the iceberg, meaning how are the sills under the doors? If those and the rear cab panel area are all rusted out then yes, swap cabs.
If you are getting oil out the drain hole that is not black engine oil, make sure the transmission oil level is at least 1" below the fill hole. if it's overfilled then drain out and clean the clutch in situ using solvent such as brake cleaner.
Runk is right, the gauges do not have bulbs inside, they are lit indirectly by the lights in the panel. Don't open the gauges. The wires going to the gauges are +24 volt power on one and the other goes to the sending unit.

The super short one at the left rear is not a ground!!! It is +24. if you put the batteries in there per the graphic, there is no way it will reach a ground post.
