    M373 Axle Swap

Find a heavy truck wrecking yard and score an air brake axle from a "pup" van trailer with the 10 hole Budd pattern.

    M936a1 boom leaks down

It's likely the boom cylinders bypassing internally. I would put a stethoscope on the control valve to attempt to hear if oil is flowing there which would tend to confirm the cylinder diagnosis.

    M1090 vs m1094

Just understand you have a very very rare truck there, very few (20?) were produced, and it is likely your truck was airdropped or LAPESed.

    Dump truck fording

Looks fixable. Someone already snatched the multifuel out of it.

    M1090 vs m1094

Welcome and lucky you. Search "flying dump truck" here for a members experience fixing one of these many years ago. The big difference is the cab, which on the airdrop trucks is capable of being broken down at the beltline. This has pros and cons, pros are the windshields are easy to replace...

    1952 XM215

Great! Doesn't all the Ford stuff need a computer? I remember when I got my GMC, the 302 had a thrown rod. I rebuilt it in my apartment at the time. Engine still runs great 38 years later. They are bulletproof.

    1952 XM215

Your 69 year old truck needs a complete overhaul beyond the engine compartment. If your end goal is to transport dirt, maybe a late model truck is better suited to your needs.

Just bought a 1954 REO M35A1 original gas engine!

Wow looking good. Data plate shows M45 which is cab and chassis with duals, but yours has been converted to singles with flipped hubs and the correct wheels. Good candidate to make a M34 cargo clone using a bed from a M135.

    1943 Dodge WC

Yup around $6000. Has the wrong wheels and tires. The MG mount is home made and wrong. Was someone's pride and joy. If you buy it get the fuel line away from the exhaust manifold to prevent vapor lock.

    preventable rear suspension failure

The grease seal is the same as the hub, so any number of suppliers carry that. I found the felt dust seal "kit" by Googling the NSN (see above picture or TM for the number) which brought me to an ebay seller. I am sure the usual suspects like Memphis Equipment would have that as well.

    1943 Dodge WC

Welcome. Looking at your picture I can tell that this truck underwent a very costly ground up restoration in the past. Meaning someone completely disassembled it, sandblasted every part, repainted and reassembled the entire truck while overhauling the power train. That is the pro. The con is...

    7520lbs and 130 hp

That's why I snapped those pictures I posted. I couldn't believe it myself. Truck is bone stock.

    preventable rear suspension failure

I tackled the trunnion rebuild today. Nothing difficult just time consuming. I filled the rust creation sump with silicone, maybe that will prevent the u bolts from rusting away again.

    7520lbs and 130 hp

The turbo 6.5 seems to perform very well loaded or unloaded. It will blast up hills at 75 mph unloaded, with the 21,000 gcwr it was only able to maintain 55 mph uphill in overdrive. If you are looking for an easy power plant upgrade for a CUCV, drop in a NA AM General 6.5, add the GM side...

    7520lbs and 130 hp

Oh you want 6.5 turbo power. Here I am at 21,000 lbs gcwr uphill at 55 mph.

    Peeling/Flaking paint

I would start with a very high pressure hot water pressure washer. Looks like your truck left the factory tan and then uncle painted it green with the usual zero prep work. Hopefully most of the green will come off. You want to paint over the factory tan. If you resort to chemical paint...

    GMV roof holes

I think I figured it out. This pictured unit is a model MIL-24U10ANQ and the mounting hole pattern is right for my (and other?) GoDov trucks. I am not crazy about SF's mounting this upside down so I believe I will make U straps so it will be right side up. I think Crapgame's picture above...

    GMV roof holes

Has anyone figured out which model inverter fits on the GoDov GMVs? The mounting bolt pattern is 10X10.5 and that does not suit any of the models of Dimensions Inverters. (EDIT: EXCEPT ONE, see post 14) See attached spec sheet. The inverter in the SOF2 pictures above is much much bigger...
