Thanks for the info! Please let us know which cat house has the techs and the parts. Most dealers including Mustang Cat here in Houston do not know this trans.
Don't forget the VTR135-M form requests you to provide the "Military Registration Number", which is not the unit (bumper) markings. The registration number usually starts with N and is often 6 alpha-numeric characters long. On later trucks, this number is stenciled on the inside of the door...
Yes, the bumper gussets and the bumper matched up fine, just some of the holes (as you see) were not in the right spot. I'll see if Sirblissful wants a date with the drill press.
Nope, it is PTO shaft driven. Thanks Doghead, I just looked at the same diagram on JATonka's web site and sure enough, we have the wrong frame extensions. Two hours effort wasted this morning bolting this up, oh well.
Looks like we might have frame extensions from a 900 series? From Topo's pic, you can see that the holes are in a pattern like a domino, and there is no tab sticking in the frame towards the radiator like we have. That is probably why the mount is not matching up to the holes on the frame...
Need some help from some of you with factory winches on your 800 series trucks. Trying to mount up a Garwood 20,000 to the front of Sirblissful's M820A2 and ran into a snag. First, looking at the inside the frame pics, do we need to drill out the frame rail and add more bolts where the gray...
You are halfway there. I ordered a piece of 1/4 wall pipe from McMaster Carr that has a OD just under the bushing's OD. The pipe comes in precut lengths, I think mine is 12" long. Just put the dogbone and the pipe in the press and the bushings press right out with maybe a ton of force.
Good for you. The military standard ignition switch is the same for jeeps, Dodges, Deuces etc. There always seem to be some on ebay and all the dealers have them. You can also replace the mil switch with a key switch available at any auto parts store.
The ignitor is not protected by circuit breakers. The number 12 wire leading to the ignitor has to have 24 volts for the engine to fire. The ignition switch is on/off only, on is turning it to the right. Make sure the Cannon connector is solidly screwed into the regulator, all the vehicle's...
Just know one thing. The lower the number, the longer the buyer has been in the game. If you find yourself bidding against a really low bidder number, prepare to give the ol' credit card a workout.
Surface tension in drums??? What is that. Adjusting the shoe to drum clearance is self explanatory. Pull to the right means frozen wheel cylinder on the left. Pedal height issues means too much clearance between shoes and drums, or collapsed rubber brake lines.
