Nope the sticker is incorrect and no way of doing it internal. Seen that on a couple of trucks. Sorry got to get your hands dirty. The thing I have found is not all trucks are set the same. So some we have to turn down the fuel at the main and then adjust the droop after FDC bypass or you might...
Yup good key or new, Most of the keys we use are 3/4 head key. Also oil the threads of the key shaft. 1/4 turn to lock and run the nut down close to tight but don't crank it as if it was a wheel stud. If you want to be safe you could wait while you got a cig or a cold drink. If it holds that...
Yea I bet one weeks pay check that buy doing a PM on the compressor you might get away with no tools if you broke a belt in the field.
Also I have not seen a real pay check since 1981 but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.
Do believe the best thing for our trucks is a pyro and a good tweeking after bypassing the FDC. Does not matter to me that I have to push the fuel pedal down a little farther if I run a weird fuel. I rather have better performance than a fuel leak into the crankcase.
To answer your question...
I do believe if you read many threads most all that know say we bypass it. It is not needed and can do more harm than good. Don't know how much the new FDC cost you but to bypass would have been around two bucks better spent.
Start buy tightening up the air compressor belt. The easy way is to make sure the threads on the compressor and outer pulley are in good clean shape. Loosen the jam bolt that holds the outer pulley tight. Then start the motor and the belt will spin the outer pull up and tighten the belt. Shut...
Here is some more pics of how much the axles can shift. Yes everyone should keep an eye on the Dog Bones and nothing wrong with checking you trunion bearings. Although checking the play on the trunnion is no easy job just have to hope that there was no water intrusion and the greaser hit the...
I said you do not need run that high as you have a tac and a foot. From what I understand it pushes the derail point higher so it will pull harder. Most people don't run the motors to the Gov. to shift anyway.
Everybody wants more performance but with that comes responsibility.
If I was to turbo a non turbo motor I think I would look for a different PT. Ours does not have a A/F fuel adjustment for the lower end. I also would shim the RPM to 2350 so it would not defuel so early. You don't ever have to run the rpm that high though. Myself I try and stay around 200psi. I...
Yea I old school it and just do it by feel starting at the bottom and no feeler gage. I also remove the jam nut off the bottom and never-seize the stud so it will always come loose adjustment is made easer.
