    MK23 (7 Ton) Parts

I guess I have to ask... How sad does a relatively new 7 ton have to be for it to become a parts truck? Was it a roll-over?

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I knew it! I saw the exercise of the Second Amendment happening when I spotted the bowling pins! Yes! That sounds like about as much fun as a person can have with their clothes on. :)

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

That looks like somebody is gonna have some fun!

    Buzzer with volume control?

I have thought for a long time that those "signal stat" turn signals should have a high voltage connector that activates after 5 minutes. Power could be wired into the operators seat.

    Buzzer with volume control?

So guys... I have a question: I saw mention of draining the air tanks at shutdown. That is a grand idea. Especially in a cold climate where frozen condensate in a tank "freezes" your ability to go... What happens if you need to move out in a hurry? In the days of old with hydraulic...

    Artisan's M916

Thank You Sir! I hauled them down and squirreled them away. Figure I need to start reading!

    Buzzer with volume control?

Hi shotty, I hate that buzzing sound as much as the next guy but I have to agree with simp5782 that while all that noise is happening is prime time to do your walk around inspection. Generally speaking, I fire my truck up, check to see that I have oil pressure and fuel showing on the gauges -...

    Another WC63 found...

Definitely a neat old truck... Would only take you about XX years to refurb it. Does seem like an awful thing to let go to scrap but I don't think you could give it to a museum. I guess that makes it a Project Truck!

    New guy from Tennessee

That's Great! I know there is a little paint flaking going on, but you have some good looking sheet-metal there to work with! Even the bed looks pretty good. Be sure to lay those troop seat backs down in the truck before you haul it. Might want those pieces of metal when you start making her...

    New guy from Tennessee

Hi FNG, Welcome! You are definitely in for a treat. The camaraderie in the Military Vehicle (MV) world makes it like you have known these people all your life... There is TONS of information available on this site. There are Training Manuals, opinions, ways to "hot rod" your truck, and just...

1/2" wire rope open spelter socket for M936A2 crane

Wes, Is the Crosby product easier to install or maybe more durable? It definitely looks like it would be a little shorter "top to bottom" maybe giving you another couple of inches of liftable height...

    What to offer on M37?

Agreed! I seemed like a heck of a good price. For it to have spent who knows how many years out beside that barn it was in amazingly good condition. Lots of TLC and about a thousand hours or so - and it will start to look like it did when it was delivered.

1/2" wire rope open spelter socket for M936A2 crane

Sad to say it looks like you need the same information that I got last week. Search for "ESMET" ( the connecter you need) with the search function. Bummer. You are also going to need a link to the place to get one. PDF on how to install and their website is on the 2 Page PDF.

new fella in the high desert

Welcome to the group! There are TONS of information available here and a great group of guys that are willing to talk about going fast, going slow, making a rad mod or setting up your MV to be like it was when delivered to the military...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Is there a place that explains the benefits of brushless vs regular brush type alternators and generators? Other than the obvious that there are no brushes riding on a copper coil? Does one have a higher output than another - or is it just flat out reliability?

    Super Nice looking truck!

    Thanks Wes!

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I hate to admit that I don't know. Everything else on this truck has needed a little attention but the engine has been solid. Easy cranking with a couple of revolutions every time but the first... I figure somewhere on the truck or engine there has to be a data plate. Guess I will go look...

    New deuce owner seeking advice

Absolutely Jacob2027 , having a Chiltons for these trucks would be pretty fantastic! It is funny how it works. Long ago I worked for a place that had a "truck shop" and a "tractor shop" (tracked vehicles) and a "rebuild shop". If I needed a new hogs head, I could order it from our...

    New deuce owner seeking advice

Good Deal! The TMs definitely have a lot of info. When these trucks were on active duty, there were some parts "replaced as a unit". Out here "in the wild" that just means the training manual won't have any details about those "replaceable units". A good example is the rotation manifold on...
