That's okay, my 5 Ton won't either, but a cold bottle of water and time under the fan makes it easier to go at it again. I keep thinking some of those concrete blocks that Wes Simpson helped move would be just the thing around here... I know a guy with a M936 and a trailer to move them with...
I can definitely relate to the back yard workshop! No shade tree mechanic'n for me. Out in the boiling hot sun... The only good thing I can say is that having lots of cardboard to throw down on the grass is a nice plus. Get it dirty, pick it up, toss it into the recycle bin and grab some...
@Guyfang
If you can't get the file to cooperate (size reduction), I could PM you an address on one of our servers to drop it on. We have lots of tools to reduce and down sample PDF files. Would be happy to help if you need it. Just let me know...

Just to get you started, what say you jack up that wheel. Block it up with a jack stand or something substantial - then pull the axle on the troublesome wheel. The gear oil should run to the other side if the fill level is right so minimal mess... Then spin the wheel and listen for any sort...
In some pictures, I noticed a really long line of what appear to be circuit breakers beside the driver. That looked like getting to the wiring for them might be a major pain...
First Class Truck HDN ! Very nice. You absolutely have got to set goals to aquire more trucks and toys!! Maybe you need to consider a HET. They have plenty of room for passengers ;-)
Long ago I worked for a company that used MV's almost exclusively. They were a power line contractor and had close to a hundred Deuces (REO's and Internationals) that had special narrowed cabs. Cab was wide enough for two on a narrow bench seat. There was a rack out front and a flat bed...
YES! A barn or somewhere under a cover to work would be really nice. I have been studying how to go about removing the Jib on my M936. The packing on the cylinder is "leaking like a hole"...
I do have an A-Frame that fits tightly on a car. About the only way that will be useful is to cut...
Just curious... Any particular reason why? PITA to work on? Expensive / Hard to Find parts? Then again too, I know a lot of folks with boats who say the happiest days of their lives where the day they bought it - and the day they sold it. :)
For some reason I think it would be cool to...
Not sure Chucky... I know for sure that it will take a paint sprayer with the ability to pass thicker material. I did a quick search here on SS and found a post by @simp5782 where he used an abrasive blaster to paint his truck...
Just a thought worth consideration... 35+ years ago I had finished the inside of my house. The place was about a hundred years old when I started and I gutted it, then fixed it up. I discovered hardwood floors under luan plywood - nailed every six inches, then covered with roll vinyl...
A box of RAPCO's 383 Green was in the tool box when I got my M936 Wrecker. I have used it to paint small truck parts that I have removed, cleaned and replaced. The label on the box calls it a CARC Substitute - and that isn't exactly right. On the other hand, the color is about as close to...
PLEASE Be Careful Plasa - If a DOT man (or a sharp lawyer) encounter you and your truck in an accident - and discover the ability to disable the low air buzzer it won't be good for you.
I'm not a lawyer and this is just my opinion.
This site is available to the public. It wouldn't be too...
Thanks for the info zebedee
Glad to know that. On the plus side, I found a local Crosby dealer about a half mile from me. Ashley Sling is over on Graham Street here in Charlotte. I figure I will throw those in my truck and ride over after lunch and see if they have clips. Their website says...
Well... I just had to tell somebody who might get excited about it. I stumbled across a heck of a deal for two Snatch Blocks. Everything is functional on both of them. Roller where the cable rides is free-spinning and has no "gritty" sound when moving.
I figure both need a light hit of...
