"Rod Hall" GMV Suspension
Did you check the nitrogen pressure? I think it says 60 psi. You can tell which parts Rod Hall added because they are black painted. Have you done a similar “catch air” jump with your other hmmwvs so you can compare? -

Timken transfer case rebuild
I rebuilt it’s big brother the T77 on the shop floor. Pay lots of attention to the shims that generate the bearing preload. -
MTV 1083 Timing Cover cracking
In the FMTV forum. Oh and FOR SURE the driveshafts being out of phase (common) or failing the hinge test (any discernible up down movement at slip joint) will cause this, along with slinging the water pump and alternator too. -

Are both of you seeing the voltmeter dip down during the glow cycle? If not, the plugs are not heating up leading to this problem. -

Thanks for the epilogue. Lesson learned, CUCVs should not be considered reliable until considerable preventive and predictive maintenance has been done. The injector pump seems to have a 10? year life between overhauls regardless of usage. -

Help diagnosing failure to crank or stay running
You will need to narrow down electrical or fuel issue. Put a voltmeter on the solenoid power lead at the injection pump to eliminate that cause. Then chase fuel issues. -

Agree. Can’t imagine trying to fix a truck for that long. If he was here in SE Texas we’d had him fixed and rolling long ago. -
Anybody disassembled the fan clutch?
Oh now that is a problem. I would see if I could hammer in the next larger metric allen wrench. -
What are final drives from am548 used for?
Different ratio than M113. Same otherwise.- NDT

M543 (Multi) won't rev over 1500
Welcome. When you fix the prime problem and clean and refresh the fuel system, most likely this will resolve.- NDT

Diboll TX whatever you do, don’t speed through that town!! Yup FD’s love to whack frames, my LWB deuce which also came from the Texas Forest Service had a similar frame whack. The only time I part out a truck is if it’s rusted to bits. Don’t give up on it.- NDT
