The most important aspect of setting up the rig is how do you get the sacks of media in the pot. If the pot is on top of a M200 and the media is on the ground, you got a backbreaking problem. I have the pot on the ground and use the forklift to carry the pallet of media right to the edge of...
I have some 1964 Gates 11.00-20's on my M135 and they are completely usable. I have no issues with using ancient tires. WWII synthetic tires are another matter, they will come apart.
I will keep my eyes open for the 16-20's in my travels. So far I have never seen any that were not on a...
Whatever you do, when you go to Red River, bring your vehicle registration paperwork with you for whatever you drive on base. If you do not have it, they will not let you on base, ask me how I know.
Welcome to the site, and to the MV hobby. There are probably 200 MV enthusiasts in the...
Frodo, better not plan on too much GL help up at Camp B. The GL girls at Polk run that site, but they don't go there for loadouts. They let the LANG guys do it. They have a BFFL, but I don't think it can pick up this trailer and set it on a gooseneck. I think it is a 10K. Good luck...
Novak Enterprises make the adapter to mount the Chevy bellhousing to the stock T-98 trans. If you use the auto trans, you have to fabricate a little jack shaft to go from the trans to the x-fer case. Stock motor mount location works ok.
I have the same rig, and it works great, but is a bit slow cutting through 8 layers of CARC. I'm about to go use it right now. No, not on an army truck. You will see that as soon as you have a blaster set up, EVERYONE will bring over lawn furniture, trailers, etc for you to blast "when you...
Here is the Texas law: Google "Registration and Title Bulletin #052-07" and print out "attachment 1". Clearly states vehicles bought at gov't auction with SF 97's are exempt from the penalty. I have a copy with me every trip to the tax office to settle any disputes right there at the counter...
To answer your original question, the NDCC tires with the extra grooves or sipes is a European thing. Tires procured or recapped in the NATO countries look like that. I believe it helps on icy autobahns.
I hear you, but . . . It's no fun pulling the transmission. Don't you think the clutch can recover from a one time oil soaking by just dripping dry and some driver induced slipping? Lots of the rebuilt deuces have the button disk with the non-asbestos linings, which don't absorb oil very...
They show on ebay and GSAauctions.gov constantly. Most are ex-brush trucks, some cared for, some, not so much . . . They are all over the US. They bring good $, over $2K usually.
Wrench Wench, you can't get the closing price unless you were bidding, the residual price on the item after close is the un-refreshed price from way before close. For example, the M915 was over 5K at close . . .
Don't feel bad, the G749 parts have been getting scrapped worldwide for years now, the good thing is the parts are getting scrapped because the trucks don't need spare parts, they just keep running . . .
715's were out of army inventory fast. By 1976, it was over for the most part. The troublesome Tornado 230 engine did not do well when driven at highway and autobahn speeds.
Welcome to the site. Looks like you don't need too much in the way of parts! Most Cletracs are a mess. Jerry Biro, 614-745-1475 will have some parts for your WXLD-3 Herc. Army Jeep parts dealers will have some instruments and lighting that is common. Other than that, you are in an...
That engine is the 6.2's big brother, with the same lack of power. Nearly noone is using them commercially here anymore. By 1990 the head gasket problems were supposedly solved.
SEE is Small Emplacement Excavator. Basically a diesel Unimog with an off the shelf front loader and Case-designed backhoe attachment. Someone here once said using the hoe attachment is like digging a hole with a 5 gallon bucket. The Army is still having these rebuilt at depot level.
