There is a thread on this already at "USAF M35A2C Spotters guide". My recently aquired truck which was known as "pinky" on the GL yard sold for $1100, missing radiator and windshields. Other than faded enamel paint, it is immaculate. It is a 1989 with the dual brakes. My game plan is to...
The cut off for non title trailers in Texas is less than 4000 lbs GVW. So, at 3/4 ton capy, that is 1500 lbs, and say 500 for the empty weight, you are at 2000. You do not need a SF97 for registering the 116. Me, I am picky and want proof I did not steal it. I would fax in a SF97 request...
The air filter will most likely be OK. You can run without for a while if it was just caked which is unheardof. I think Ft Sam only loads out Tues-Thurs???
The distributor is the injection pump head and the doohickey is the fuel density compensator. I don't see anything missing, everyone else??? The rest of the truck looks good. Mkcoen, what about the BRAKE PEDAL???? Very important.
TXandy, do a thread search for "deuce recovery...
Don't worry, once you get the bugs worked out she will be ultra dependable. I have been driving mine now since 1989 and have had only minor issues with the truck, one of which was the pickup coil. I paid $275 for my truck at Ft Hood DRMO and put it back together. At the cann point, someone...
Thank you kendelrio, that offer is MUCH APPRECIATED! Camp B is a bit tricky because you are right in the middle of town there. Any shakedown problems driving out and you will be in a mess. It's nice to know there is a SS "911" nearby.
Thanks again for the offer, Isaac-1. If someone needs a towing service in Leesville (Ft Polk), I can recommend Auto-Tek, they did a great job hauling me and what was left of my pickup back to Texas after I pulled out in front of a lady going 55 mph. I was in a daze after previewing at GL...
Thank you so much for the offer!!! I was hoping one day there would be a SS member in Leesville. What all are you set up to do? As you have seen those trucks are not very driveable.
UPS as in UPS Freight? These are too heavy for regular UPS at 280 lbs each strapped in a 4 pack plus pallet. Mine went via Vitran, they did a great job keeping things undamaged.
Ordered some 12-4 SO cord today to make up the power cable from Mc Master Carr, will be "in the cool" here in...
Please don't think that GL only profits from the 10% BP. I contracted with a local auction house today to sell some machine tools for the co I work. They also have a BP of 10%. The seller premium is 35%!!!!! We only get 65 cents on the dollar, and then the auction house gets another 10...
See my thread on "Keco A/C's - a bargain?" They are similar but not the same, Keco F18T-2S, 17.25 W 20 D 46.5 H. 1.5 ton ac, 208 V 3 phase. Pics are there.
The engines are Red Diamond, Green Diamond, etc and they were used in civy trucks of the day. Parts are available for those. For sheetmetal, its off to the fabricators or buy another parts truck. For wiring, Vintage Wiring of Maine will make you a new harness from what is left of yours...
Unfaded paint, non rotten canvas, no new rust, non-deterioriated tires and rubber parts, no rats eating the wires, no bird nests, no hornet nests, are just some of the advatages of a shop building for your treasures.
