SCRAP????? As in CUT UP A STEEL SOLDIER and send the pieces to China???
I didn't see the price in the ad the first time. $2K is too not bad for a rust free California desert truck that is rare as hen's teeth.
You mean the starter kicked on while you were driving down the street? Yikes. I thought the problem was the relay stuck when you crank it. I have my relay dangling under the dash out of fear, now I will put a kill switch also.
I have been driving my M135 like that since 1983. In my case, the shoes are adjusted too far away from the drums. Make sure your shoes are just about dragging. On the M8, you may also have air in the line between the master and the booster. You may need to pressure bleed or crack a line at...
Looks like a M-2-4 WWII International. Lotsa fishplating on that frame. I have called Barstow Truck Parts REPEATEDLY trying to get them to give me a price on trucks listed in My Little Salesman, but no answers or return calls. Too bad, not everyone who calls is a tire kicker . . .
Well I finally got the Keco A/C units in today, motor freight lost them for a while. Cost $390 to get 4 units from Tobyhanna PA to Texas. So I have $150 ea in what I think is a really nice unit. They are brand new, never out of the box, heat and cool, complete with manual and the power...
There are 3 MV groups in Houston, the Military Museum of Texas, Bluebonnet Military Motor Pool, and the 6th Cavalry Assn. Join one and see you at the parades, airshows, and reenactments!
The 1008 and 1031 have different driveshafts. They have different transfers, 208 and 205. Easiest thing to do is take your bent one (when you get back from taking care of business) to a driveline shop and have them re-tube it for about $120.
This is just a theory: That wheel (weel ) bolt pattern was usually used on dually trucks of the day. Motor Wheel just relocated the center dish on the rim to make the 715 wheel, and the centering chamfers were not deleted.
Those all come out thru GSA. The Museum of the American GI was lucky to draw this TH1F. Here we are loading it onto my M275A2E1 with Rogers 20 ton lowboy.
Bearings can come from any bearing supplier, not just a Timken dealer. On some of the WWII numbers, they may not have them on the shelf, but can be ordered. Tapered roller bearings have not changed much over the years. I guess your problem is finding a local source where you are right now...
I would say that mileage showing on CUCV odometers can be considered correct. CUCV's never went though a depot overhaul or "reset" (cool new term I learned here). I bought 2 1009's last year by bottom feeding on GL, they ran me about $500 ea, one had a busted transfer also and both had...
