Didn’t get to the strobe but did get the trailer for it setup. Going to move the wheels 10” forward to balance the weight out alittle more. Also going to paint the rims black and the hitch green.
Then in between I’ll get the strobe wired in

Oh that makes more sense that it breaks the ground. Thanks kloppk. I was so puzzled when I had the set running and testing the leads from s5 why there wasn’t any voltage when it was open. Hahahaa i have so much to learn.

Good afternoon everyone,
I’m looking to wire in a 24volt green beacon strobe on my genset. This is to let me know the circuit interrupter is in the closed position. I’ve been staring at the electrical diagram for DS6 which is the circuit interrupter light and S5. I really don’t understand now...
That how it always is. My first year I didn’t have the genset and I emptied my fridge 3 times because of spoiled food… tried to get the poco to cover the cost yeah right. That’s after my state found them guilty of dragging there feet in bring power back on line.

Lost power today. Sunny light breeze around 84 great day I was in the middle of dinner and gone. Shot my utility a call truck came right out. Linesman was the one that came out a few months ago. Long story short my street has 5 home on a dead end the feeder line runs 900 ft through the woods...
I had the same idea but with one of those small Chinese diesel heaters. The exhaust of it was so hot you could cook a burger on it. I ended up using an Amazon heat exchanger and a heater core from a s10 I had laying around. Ran 50/50 antifreeze in it with a small 12 volt fan. Had to add a 2...

I have 1 known bad inverter and 1 suspected.
I did Kloppk conversion kit and am more then happy with how it performs now. I’m keeping my eyes on this thread to see if I can fix the one inverter.

I’d start with fluid changes. Get the old diesel out Put new oil in the engine. Download the TM from here and read through it. That will give you the best idea what to do. On my Mep831a I always add in the correct amount of diesel additive for lubricantion and for stabilizing the diesel for cold...
Not that it will help much but my mep 831 runs on #2 home heating. The only thing I do is add optilube to the gen tank when I pull a new batch of fuel from the basement. I have the aux fuel line plumbed into the tank after the filter. I also added a filter and water separator at the back of the...
I’m thinking he means #34 that’s my guess. Assumptions are a dangerous game.
Op post a few pictures of each set for us. We can help from that. Kloppk and guy fang know there stuff when it comes to these gen sets I listen to there advise as we do with a Bible.

So closing the circuit is a switch that sends power from the generator to the output lugs.
Make sure you go over the Tms ready everything. Especially in the trouble shooting section. It’s very easy to fry electronics in a 1040 unit.
Spend time on the forum ready as much as you can.
There’s...
Yes you should always ground the set before start up. You can go as simple and using a piece or romex. Ungrounded sets running things and having a short or gfci trip can cause a lot of damage.
