Bought a M715 years ago that had set for several years with a SBC 350 that ran, it shot out milo and blackwalnut hulls when reved up also. But no rodent projectiles. The rats seem to have a knack at fidning the most expensive and hard to replace wiring to chew on, it's a big problem for farmers...

Well finally got my CUCV, a 85 M1008, 53k miles, great mechanical shape. My first diesel, but second MV. Starts and runs/drives great. Not planning anything radical. First is starter relay mod, tilt steering column(need driver clearance;)) then 37" hummer rubber and small lift up front, camo...

On DIYx4s site they show how to weld a small retaining bead on civi 16.5 rims, looks interesting but still calls for considrable welding and smoothing in the process. At least the tire bead wouldn't drop off the rim at low pressure.

Yeah the proffesional prebuilt option wins the day. Also not willing to chase down pinholes and deal with 108 sets of fasteners involved with a set of DIY rims. Maybe 10 yrs. ago but that's another story. I have machining/welding abilities but also the ability to let someone more qualified...

Hello, finally getting my first M1008 and will be running 16.5 hummer rubber. In an effort to stop any deflated tires from dropping off the bead I was considering tire/rim screws that some drag racers use as a budget beadlock device. My goal is not a beadlock but to keep a deflated tire beaded...

No not me, there's a couple running around here. One real nice another not bad(nicer than mine). Haven't run my in awhile, lack of interest, time, and other things have kept me away from it.

Don't think it runs, I'm in Hutchinson northwest of Wichita 40 miles. Truck's in Claremore OK northeast of Tulsa 30(?) miles. Will get more info tomorrow, just feeling things out before I get to far down the road so to speak.
