What have you done to your M-37 lately?

Absolutely nothing in the past few months. I recently bought a Cessna 150 and all my time now is spent playing with that toy. My truck is for sale, however I'm contemplating keeping it....Oh, I did start it up and let it run for a while last week.....I have run it in the garage about once a...

Parts suppliers recommended / not recommended?

Sid Beck Sid Beck was the best person to deal with period....My first order with him was for a NOS steering box. I sent an email, with my desires and adress, and I had the parts on my doorstep before I had even sent him the check. He didn't know me from Adam yet was trusting enough to do this...

    2010 aberdeen BS/for sale/who's going/when and where

I will be there on Friday with my sons as usual. Not bringing the truck but will be there anyway. This is the first year I really have nothing special I need to buy for the truck, just coming down to check things out and maybe find something that just screams "buy me". If anything I may buy...

    Mew M37 in my yard

Assuming the previous owner is the one who had that makeshift roof built over it? If so, that's the reason its in such good shape. Too many of these trucks are just left to the elements and become rusted hulks in short order as a result. At least the guy had the forethought to do that to keep...

    What do I do?

Maybe he's looking in a mirror in his explanations. The starter pedal is above the accelerator, not the clutch. Maybe he meant the master switch, but even that is above the accelerator on the dash to the right of the steering column. Starting an M37 is easy. As was explained, flip master...

    What do I do?

I've never seen or read anywhere that says its a must to depress the clutch before starting an M37. While its the smart thing to do to ensure the tranny is disengaged from the engine, its not imperative that the clutch be depressed to start the truck, so long as its in the neutral position. One...

m-37 manuals all i need is one

Well, I'm old school, I say buy the manual and keep it in your shop where you can thumb through it whenever you need to. The front fender makes a nice table top. Who cares if the book gets greasy. That's part of the allure of these trucks. With the CD you will need to head for the computer every...

    Stuff to know.

If your daily drive is maybe 10 miles or less, and its all back roads, then yes it can be a daily driver. If you are like me and have a 33 mile one way commute daily, forget it. By the time I'd get to work , I'd have to turn around and start the return trip home. IMO great truck to play with...

    free M37 for parts

Shame, I hate to hear of any M37 that's going to go to the scrapper. Hope somebody rescues it just to use the parts.

    M-37 vs M-37B1

My 62 B1 has packard and Douglas connectors. It has the spacers under the driver's side springs and since it has no spare tire carrier anymore, the truck rides a little high on the left side. I though I had a bent frame there for a while until somebody told me to check for the spacers. Sure...

    The Command Car story WC56

Nice command car but the wrong color. WWII vehicles to my knowlege weren't painted the dark semigloss OD.

Kicked out of my own driveway!

I'd ignore the first letter. Its nothing but a scare tactic to get you to knuckle under. Don't fall victim. Contact a lawyer make sure you're in the right, then next time a "letter arrives" return it with a cease and desist note from your lawyer's office or they will take action in the name of...

    I need spots at Aberdeen

There is a small amount of grass along the back edge of the parking lot where guys camp. I imagine most of them are people who have nearby spaces taken up with parts etc though. I always park in the front of the stadium and don't have real far to walk if I want to bring parts back to my truck.

    Should I buy this M37?

I am not a purist by any means, however I cringe when I hear about M37's that have had V-8's dropped in, tranny's swapped out, etc. To me M37's were meant to be driven with an original type of flathead engine, and running gear. If some wingnut modified it without knowing what he was doing, you...

Tubes for 11.00-16 or 9.00-16 tires

Try Auto and Truck HQ in Havre de grace Md. I bought my tires, tubes, and flaps through them. Good outfit to deal with. Do a search on Auto and Truck HQ to find their website. You can try Coker tire also.......

Sid Beck out of parts business?

Same here. One of my first orders with Sid was an NOS steering box. The unit was sitting on my front porch and I hadn't even sent him a dime. My first thought was "wow this guy is really trusting in people", then I realized what I had in someone like that. There aren't many people like that left...

Sid Beck out of parts business?

Yeah, I too hope somebody will jump in and continue Sid's legacy. I'd hate to see such a good source for parts dry up or fall onto some unscrupulous individual who prefers dollar signs over honesty and decency....

Sid Beck out of parts business?

Heard on G741.org that Sid Beck is getting out or has gotten out of the parts business....Ill health is forcing his decision due to not being able to climb into his box cars full of parts. I truly hope this isn't true because Sid is probably the best source of M37 parts around. Wishing Sid...

    New M37 Owners!

Unfortunately I can't view your picture from my work computer so I can't see the box you're talking about, but again it sounds like an add-on to me. I've never seen an M37 with a storage bin between the seats.

    New M37 Owners!

They all have a little rust. If stored outside, the cab will have some damage, especially the cab under the windshield. Mine was all eaten away in that area. These trucks weren't supposed to have 3 seats in the cab. One driver's seat and one bench seat. There is room for storage under the...
