Bought one of the M17MCHF Decom Unit a few years back - the unit has 2 hrs on it - we are trying to figure out the engine starting process. Anyone have experience in starting the 2si diesel from this unit?

Bought a Ford F450 Super Duty Crew Cab Flat Bed truck 176" wheel base - its in the Gov Planet Yard in Albany GA will need to be winched on - no driveshaft installed. would be nice if this could be picked up next week.
I was thinking the same on letting air in the system....but thats how your supposed drain water from the filter. Truck started and was running fine before I opened the valve. Tomorrow we check fuel pump
Fuel filter drain - Today I tried opening the valve (first time) while the engine was idling and the engine stumbled and stalled out. I was under the impression that during idle was the the time to drain water from the filter. Now she dont want to start up - Theres a slight chance its out of...
Found the problem - the regulator on the air tank wasnt allowing air to flow past - we moved the adjustment screw back and forth. Air began to flow again - moved the control knob to the proper position to inflate the cylinders and BINGO!! they moved. Another bonus is the CTIS is working again too.
Replaced to (2) 10-24 rivnuts for the instrument cluster mounting - bought the tool at Harbor Freight. Then installed a NOS instrument cluster and some new gauges.
