Personal experiance,
Clean and check the engine ground connection, clean and check the battery cable connections, make sure your starter has it's heat shield and above all carry-out the Doghead relay modification.
If you can unplug the starter relay it is not the Doghead mod.
Also, a bad...
I purchased an M1009 from Motorsource Inc. this last April.
Very happy with the service, Jeff was a straight-shooter and they personally own and use CUCVs.
They state that all the CUCVs they sell are from Southern Nevada, Kalifornia and Arizona.
The M1009 I purchased from them was/is super...
QuickSilver, thanks for the heads-up on the AC 60G glow-plugs.
idM1028,
I just replaced all the glow plugs in my M1009 (no different than a spark plug change), I did think about a Turbo when doing this, but not anytime soon! LOL

Albersondh,
I e-mailed the Dealership this morning for the transport contact information.
As soon as they get back with me I will forward it on to you.

If you purchased and are using the relay specified in the "Doghead Relay Mod." the relay is most likely fine if it's brand new......(just my $.02).

I will post photos of everything after...

Son and I
My son and I have been spending time together working on our new 1985 M1009 (39,000 miles on the odometer). This vehicle is from Souther Arizona and came to me with an extra 50 lbs. of very fine dust!
Anyway, in the course of installing all new switches in the steering column (kind of...
Volt Charging Meter Resistor Repair
UPDATE: This repair technique isn't reliable.
Yes I did get to to work, but the repair is not robust.
Now to find a replacement resistor!
Steve
In the course of going through all of my M1009's wiring I found the 330 Ohm resistor across the back of the...
NAPA starter part number
I just purchased 3 starters from NAPA (long story, vehicle wiring issues).
NAPA part number is 91-01-4417, it is gear reduction unit, 28MT Series.
