What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

LMC truck, and oddly it seemed like the drivers side fit better than the passenger side. Looked like a fair amount of disassembly to get to it as well.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Replaced bad gen 1 alt with the Rare Electrical unit I ordered, no issues. Installed new vent window rubber on both sides, new rear window rubber seal, new horn. Installed front upper shackle hanger bushings. Oh yeah, and whenever I say "I replaced", I am taking liberties. A more accurate...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Motor mounts, fuel pump, some suspension bushings. Ordered ORD Front Upper Shackle Hangers, new Rare Electrical spare alternator after Gen 1 light/voltmeter showed overcharging. I searched here for info about Rare, but couldn't find any...hope that wasn't a mistake. I figured I will rebuild...

Just found this short clip of my cucv on YouTube that I didn't know existed...

So I thought I'd post it up... Not the toughest offroading but fun for a first timer! http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=okwF99b5hzI&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DokwF99b5hzI

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

I don't think you should talk about "buying wenches" on this forum! :)

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

If my mechanic does it, does it still count as "me"? In that case, just had the front seal and harmonic balancer done, as well as rear axle seals, rear brakes, oil change, removal of mouse nest from defroster vents, and replacement of a bunch of light bulbs under the dash. Also had the bottom...

    lift

I did a 2 front 2.5 back and did not need to change brake lines or anything else. They were tight, and they were worn, so I upgraded to longer stainless steel lines, but my mechanic said it was not necessary. I was starting to get some cracking in the lines so replacement made sense either...

    Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires.

I have them on my '09. I like them. 33x12.5 w/ 2 inch lift. People say they are noisy, but that's like saying a 44 magnum is loud at an active gun range. It's louder than a 38, but come on, you are at a frickin' gun range. If you cant handle noisy you shouldn't drive an '09. I personally...

Best bang for your buck and probably least money for most gain in reliability: doghead starter relay mod.

    CUCV Hood stack

The problem is that most guys I see with hood or bed stacks are at the dragstrip pushing between 800-1500 hp (Chevy's and fords on the low end, dodges on the high end) and they need the exhaust evacuation. With your cucv you'd be pushing a max of 230 with turbo. You'd look like a guy who...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Installed ORD Steering box brace, fixed power locks ( yep, you read that right, don't ask...), did some mouse abatement, then did a bit of wheelin'. Thing does real well offroad...all the jeep guys want to see how it's gonna do. One of the guys in front of me said "it looks like a menacing...

Went and bought a turbo, why???

    That is a steal!

Went and bought a turbo, why???

My question also. The answer to "why" in your OP - very similar to why a dog licks his you-know-what: because you could and it was there. I just bought one too...gonna wait a little before putting it on though!

    Is anyone running 33" tires

Come to think of it, I never put them on stock rims, I put mine on procomp 15x8 rims, and they may have a different offset, so mine rubbed while others here do not. It is not an apples to apples comparison....sorry. But they fit the stock rims, stock rims are 8 inch.

    Is anyone running 33" tires

I put wrangler duratrac 33x12.5's on and I did get rubbing at full lock on the fenders. I put a 2 inch lift on the car from ORD(2.5 in back) and no more rubbing. My car was not sagging excessively before either.
