I plugged my cable in direct to the yellow gear works fine but is %20 slower on the odometer. I too the adaptor apart and it looks fine , greased it up but still does not work when re installed. It must be a problem where the cable inserts ? would just like to get another one if i can.
I have the same problem and it is definitely the adaptor. Took it apart and it seems to be fine but replace it and no change. Do you know where I can purchase another one? thanks Randy
1. What exactly did they use this for?
2. Is it under a lot of pressure
3. Can I use it to deliver oil to my turbo charger?
4. If not where can I tap in to get oil?
Thanks if you can answer these questions
The color is black and copious amounts. i have changed the fuel filter and it runs better for a little while then back to the same ole same ole. My understanding is black is unburnt fuel so if you have lots of black smoke you would be getting too much fuel right?
Reverse and forward act exactly the same in 2wd and 4wd high. 4wd low it responds splendidly
hoses all good
1. Is there any smoke when accelerating? Yes big time
2. Any noises? no
3. Does the engine rev high as though it's slipping? no
4. Does it only shift one time? (starting in second...
My 86 Cucv starts fine runs smooth at idle and revs nicely however put it in gear or reverse 2wd or 4wd high and it is slow taking off and seemingly no power. Just for kicks I put it in 4wd low and it responds quickly and with power??? could this be a filter problem?
Thanks, i will experiment with this. the truck only has 75K on it and a pump should not be bad at this point. I to am experimenting with alternative fuels the quest goes on.
great information! The one thing I wanted to know when you had your problem is did you turn the fuel up or down and then after the ATF did you return it to the original? What i am getting from all this is that the injectors or lines may be clogged and by cleaning them out with ATF the...
My 6.2 runs smoothly but hit the peddle and lots of black smoke - truck is sluggish and accelerates at a snail pace. I have put on a new air filter with some help but not enough. I have advanced the timeing with little effect. I was wondering if I turned down the fuel in the IP if this would...
I was reading the thread to get some answers and came across yours. My 6.2 runs fine but excessive black smoke when I hit the gas. I understand that you can reduce the fuel delivery on the IP but will this actually change this situation? Mine is NA and at high altitude so before I do this I...
having the same problem, new glow plugs rated to 24 V lasted 3 days???? now their toast. Can you point me in the right direction to bypass the 12V resistor/ Thanks Randy
wow thats interesting. Then the possibility of getting one off a wrecked vehicle is a possibility. I will do some research as well. The civilian K5 must have come with a turbo??
i love my M1009 but living in Colorado presents some problems. At high altitude and pulling a trailer the HP goes way down and copious black smoke is produced. You would think the military has encountered this and dealt with it?? Is there a military turbo charger to solve this problem? I...
Interestingly I spoke to a Diesel mechanic yesterday, He assured me that rebuilding the IP is doable and much cheaper than purchase of a new one. The American way now as he put it is to just throw it away and buy one from China. He told me that I probably did not need to rebuild with my...
i appreciate your input. I have a brother in Jax Fl I will look into the recalibrating of the IP etc. Knowledge is power, On the road I will have to make repairs and adjustments myself in remote locations. again, thanks Randy
