    m35a1 heater and motor id

I started a more recent thread about the engine at http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?130446-M35A1-engine; My truck no longer has the original 427 and has had a LDT or LDS 465 swapped in with a 5ton turbo on it. As for the other questions, I'm almost certain the front bumper and heater...

    M35A1 engine

Did you find any more out about this? I saw that White was bought by Volvo, but that wasn't until 1981. A multifuel Volvo truck would be an interesting find. Is the only way to find out whether I have the LDS465 or LDT465 to take a piston out? Or should it be fine with a LDS turbo/IP on a LDT...

    M35A1 engine

I was hoping I had a 427 but it doesn't look like I do. The date on my block is 7 26 65 and the turbo has 4-456 on the tag. Yep, this plug is there as well. The block has the number 10935254 on it, which from looking in the TMs is a non-TD block for the 5 ton. Was this the same number on both...

    M35A1 engine

I thought this was the case too. All the LDS turbos I have seen in my searching had the larger inlet. Were the turbos upgraded in those a1's?

    M35A1 engine

My block does have the threaded bolt holes on the front. It was too dark for me to tell if it has the plug. I don't think its a 427. But are there any visual differences between LDS and LDT 465? Edit: can now add pics

    Issue posting pics

I looked through the old threads about this but didn't see this error. If I use the insert image link in the quick editor I get the error: <br /><strong>Fatal error:</strong> <ul><li>File system directory "[path]/forum_attachments/5/2/1/9/6" is not writable or cannot be found. Please create...

    M35A1 engine

Thanks guys. I will have to take a look for those on the block when I get back this afternoon. On the pics, it keeps giving me an access error... 2 computers have done it so far. Did this to me last time I made a thread too...

    M35A1 engine

JasonS: Did you get a "u pipe" like the stock one or the 5 ton intake elbows? I've only seen the elbows so far. Thanks

    M35A1 engine

I'm finally getting around to start restoring my 62 Studebaker M35A1. But after buying a replacement intake duct for it and finding it doesn't fit my turbo, I'm trying to find out for sure which engine I have. I have do quite a bit of searching but haven't been able to really figure this out...

air pack to brake light switch bushing?

Sorry, didn't mean to sound impatient in my last post. Just frustrated at myself for managing to break that haha. That was one stubborn bushing though, it took three days of soaking in penetrating oil and heating it with a torch to get that off. But I think the torch weakened it enough to crack...

air pack to brake light switch bushing?

Aw man... I was hoping someone on here might have an old one laying around. I went to the local hardware store just to make sure but there's nothing close. Figures that I break the one piece that's not a standard size:|

air pack to brake light switch bushing?

That was what I was thinking of doing at first. But NPT threads for 1" have 11.5 threads per inch, while this seems to have 20-22 threads per inch? I haven't seen brass fittings this size there, but I never really looked for them. Or are you meaning for the air actuated switch? I still have the...

air pack to brake light switch bushing?

The bushing on mine was so cracked, it broke in half today: 131027.jpg Any suggestions on getting one? (Also, still can't upload images. Getting a "Fatal error: File system directory (path) is not writable or cannot be found..." Anyone know how to fix that?) Thanks

air pack to brake light switch bushing?

Does anyone have one from an old air pack or know where I can get a new bushing? I need the one that the brake light switch attaches to on the old style air pack. While I was finishing up my air pack rebuild, I noticed a crack all the way through that bushing... Everything else looks fine and...

    m35a1 heater and motor id

The heater is a hot water heater under the glovebox. The water lines are still connected to it. It does look very similar to the ones I have seen for my Willys CJ5. The motor doesnt seem to fit anywhere close on the heater box, unless it attaches to one of the small holes and sits above the box...

    m35a1 heater and motor id

I recently got a 62 Studebaker m35a1 for my first deuce. This forum has already helped me figure out most of my questions, but there are a few I haven't been able to find much on. First, has anyone seen an in-cab heater like this? I've only seen the heaters mounted by the engine and I haven't...
