Grandad wants an M37, help me out

I bought a very nice driver off Craigslist for $3300 last summer. Undercarriage, frame to wheels, had been cleaned and painted. New seat cushions and canvas top. Two new tires with nubbins on tread, other two tires 80-90%. The only thing missing was the spare tire mount and air cleaner, but...

A winch and cover, and only batteries needed for 1500? Mark that one a bargain! Congratulations.

    Cargo Cover question

Greetings from NE Orygun. A few years back I drove my '63 M35A1 on a 400 mile round trip. During the trip the strap hardware on the bow corners wore a hole through the brand new NOS canvas top in at least two places. Question regarding vinyl cover--when you folks are on the road, do you...

Gl says that them Mfr/sn is unknown

mfg/sn unknown can also mean it is an early truck that had a depot rebuild. I think when that happens the original data plate is removed, and replaced with a generic plate that has the registration number. That, at least, was the story with my 63 Studebaker.

    The new guy needs help

Thank you for serving. The east coast trucks are going for $1500-2000, looks like. The key is in prior inspection--which you can't do. Were I any where near NC, I'd be happy to go inspect one for you to bid on. Maybe one of the east coast folks will ring in with that offer. As to bidding...

    95% Legal Deuce in SOCAL

Just one of the reasons this union could get along fine without California.

    Optima Battery - Which One?

Red Tops. My M35A2C had them when I picked it up at Ft. Lewis. They were installed in 1997. That's 12 years in service, folks, and still going strong! The Energizer Bunny HATES Red Tops :-D

generator to run house and well

I am in your situation. We're in the country in an all-electric home. This is compounded by the fact that Pacific Power around here has been nick-named the Prince of Darkness, for good reason. I run a 3/4 hp multi-stage pump that's down 60 feet, two refrigerators, a freezer, a Directv dish...

    I think i won!!!!!

Congrats on a really nice looking truck. Wish I wasn't 3000 miles from Redstone. They've got way more trucks, way cheaper than here in the Pacific NW. And no, I'm not eager for a 3000 mile trip at deuce speeds. :-D

    Convert M49A2C to M35 troop/cargo?

Somebody on here might be dying for a tanker, and willing to swap bodies--or trucks, which would be very little work;-)

Forest Gump '88 M35A2C Recovery Kleiver Armory

My 1988 deuce, also from Oregon, has the low heater intake as well. Factory installed heater would be my guess. Coug, send me your 88K number, and if it's one of the four that was shipped with mine, I'll send you a photocopy of the manifest. And, hey, you shouldn't be shooting gauge pics...

    Smooth Recovery from Redstone

Em R the kind of recoveries to have. Good looking trucks--all three of them. I doff my hat to dad for helping out. Does he think you're nuts?

Coug, my truck had 4874 miles and 180 hours, documented by service record in the truck.

    USAF M35A2C truck value

Hi, Coug. Enamel paint. No power steering. I pondering adding power steering, but at a thousand bucks, I can't make myself do it just yet.

    Opinions sought on modification

My 1988 USAF truck doesn't have weapon rack. My truck came from GL-Ft. Lewis, and only modification from as-delivered in 1989 seems to be addition of a NATO slave socket. Question is, would it be a sin to add the dual rifle rack to this nearly original truck?

    USAF M35A2C truck value

Howdy, Coug. My 1988 USAF truck went for 2070 bid, not including premium and EUC at GL last summer. Someone here was doing research on the 80's vintage AF trucks, and they were standard with wood side racks, hard top, blue warranty plate on dash, Silvertown tires, and heater. Wiithout pioneer...

City is Messing with my deuces.....

Sounds like you need a new city. In my neck of the woods, you need a current registration to park on the street, but not on your property. Also, in most places permanent collector vehicle plates are not terribly expensive.

Newbie about to take the Plunge

Greetings. You might go the the Idaho MotorPool website and see what Alex Gordon has listed. He's in Fruitland Idaho, 715 miles from LV, but you might get price and option ideas from his website. Alex is a great guy, and a straight shooter. I bought my M151A2 from him. Also, he sponsors...
