D.M said me to thank you, (All) as we are now good to go. To the shows. The fuel is not adjusted. (after I told "If it isn't broken don't fix it"). we will try it on the road first. After all what's a bit of smoke.
Turned up for work at the shop today. (holiday). Shutter up, Last deuce in would not start. We pulled it out with the forklift. I persuaded D.M. To fix that first. It was a nightmare everything was changed and no go, Turned out it was the one way valve on the fuel inlet on the injector pump...
The pictures are blurred, (tin of grease on side of deuce) but I made sure all the wheel studs, nuts and the inner and outer securing threads were thoroughly coated with copper grease.
Today we (all) D.M reo rick and co worked on the newly acquired deuce to bring it up to scratch. (D.M. post above). I changed out two flat tires and wheels. These came off the donor parts deuce we obtained a while ago. It too was going to be restored. But D.M. Says that's just one too many.So we...
Had permission to take a weeks 'leave' from the academy and accomanied the old un's to the War and peace Revival. Helped with loading stuff, and we set off at 4 A.M. in the morning, and arrived in convoy about 7A.M. We set up "camp" and prepared to arrivals to come, as we were one of the first...
That truck has real presence. What a nice find, well done. Deserves a good home and care..seems to have got one. Welcome to the site, hobby, friendships, and events to come. It will be nice to see pictures with the story of the ongoing restoration.
I do quite like Ambulances, and fire trucks. I...
We use motorway barriers, they are immensely strong and have just the right section for the jeeps to run in. There are bolts through the tops into the dropped tailgate. (drilled holes not behind) And When I suggested to put the V8 jeep in the back to save space in the workshop I did not realize...
Next weekend I am helping to change the rear axle oil seals, check the brakes and fit new wiper motors. It will be almost "tasks accomplished" then we hope. Just the underside to weatherproof paint.
I helped to fit this same oil pump to the m45 530c fire truck in my avatar. it came from the internet source and works quite well. It struggles with really cold thick oil but still raises pressure and fills the filter cans and turbo.
Today, the Deuce was due a re-spray, after the previous owner had 'ruined' the look of the vehicle. So the boss and I were working on it all day, and I can't say it wasn't worth it! It has now got a new coat of dark green and several American stars painted in black on it, and now it looks the...
The boss (dmetalmicki) has recently re-acquired a Deuce... but with a somewhat poorly constructed interior made for camping. However, this was not to stay and was just a bit fun to get rid of, and get it back to its original form of glory. The task was a blast. also fitted new switch for oil...
Just finished working on dmetalmicky's FV 432. Added siren (extremely loud), linked all lights together; there is now no blackout lights, all lights come on at once AND dip (The previous dipswitch was fualty and would not not swith between the contacts so I put an new, simpler one in and...
Welcome, now the competition starts, As I adopted (commandeered?) a Huge (to me) 432. a.p.c. We are both working at, learning about, and liking everything about the green hobby. Ditto war and peace revival. Two events up also.
Two new chaps.
[QUOTE=quickfarms "And do not forget your right hand man to lift the heavy parts".
