OK, I have a 60 amp alternator and the POS aluminum bracket has broke in the back where the bolt allows the power steering pump to be adjusted.

So I want to replace it with a steel one but I am not sure if parts listed for the 100 amp alt will also fit mine.
Or if anyone knows of the proper part # for a steel alt. bracket that would help also. Tho I believe the part # should be: 12338786

So what's the special tool used to get the pully off the PS pump? Need to replace that bracket also as one of the holes is much larger than normal. I assume a standard 2 jaw puller to remove but what is the trick to reinstalling it?

Make sure you have a rear Alt. bracket or things happen to the aluminum one.

Yeah I didn't have that bracket before but I do have it now. Tho the holes seem to be drilled in the wrong place. As if they were too far apart. But someone mentioned that it will fit ya just gotta do both sides at the same time or something like that.

Could ya post a few photos? I have the bracket on order already and will attempt to bolt up that rear support bracket and pray it fixes the problem.

Got a part number?
No. My 1992 dated invoice for the part says "100 amp steel bracket $97.00" But my 1985 dated TMs show the same (aluminum) bracket being used for both the 60 and 100 amp generator. So the steel one should retrograde, unless I am full of crap.

OK. I have seen "100 amp steel brackets" but I've already got an aluminum one on order and when I hookup the rear support bracket hope this will let this one stay around for a good while.
