How's the pine holding up?
I just have the one board done currently. Had to get the truck over for the snorkel, hauling some brush this week, and working on fluid changes so the racks got put on back burner again.

The universal Napa muffler that is on there is great. Quieted it down quite a bit, but it is a whistler and it is still quite prominent. A buddy with a D turbo always comments how he needs that sound in his life when he hears mine. So I'm assuming it's still loud enough.

It is a good sound.

It says "authority", and no BS.

Interesting day/night yesterday.

I decide to take the truck to work last night (3rd shifter here). Did my pre-trip, all systems go.
Fire up the truck, let her warm up. All is good.
I get about half way to work (apprx 5 miles of stoplight to stoplight) and notice the temp gauge is pegged at 240. Truck sounded ok, drove ok, felt ok......had the windshield cracked open too so engine noises/heat were even more apparent. Nothing out of the ordinary besides the gauge. My work has an on site truck shop. So I b-lined for there. Once there I grabbed a temp gun, and popped the hood. With the temp gun straight at the water pump, at idle, it was only 150. WHEW!!!

This morning, fired up the truck to come home, all gauges were back to normal.

Gotta love these finicky dash clusters. Now to find the loose connection or bad ground.

I'm in total overload right now, but this is what I remember......

~ clutch is less than a year old. Paperwork included.
~ truck is titled.
~ front tires are new, and a couple of rear ones are to.
~ truck was OD green, cab and bed were removed once and everything repainted tan (including frame).
~ tool rack (empty).
~ troop seats.
~ cold front.
~ modern wiper blades on stock arms.
~ spin on oil filters.
~ front manual locking hubs
~ after market muffler (HUGE improvement). Still sounds like the whistler, but you can carry a conversation in the cab.
~ soft top (in great shape).
~ new batteries.
~ jerry can (but it's red cause someone put gasoline in it)

Took it to a friend that used to wrench on them at the local army base, and he climbed around on it. Said the dog bolts were sound, everything looks to have been greased and maintained well. The only thing he found was front axle boots looked to be leaking. He said as long as I'm not submerging them, and keeping up on greasing it, it'll be fine for what little driving i'll be doing in the next year or so.

Drove it and the clutch feels good. Parking brake is good. Steering is good. Rolls down the road good for having the NDT's.

Did a quick walk-around and noticed the driver side blinker was out. Anyone have a bulb number off the top of their head? I know I can search it which I will be doing shortly.

Passenger door doesn't like to latch unless you abuse the naughty girl.

Troop seats need to be re-done. New planks and paint will be one of the first things to be done this summer.

Dura-liner in the box.....good Idea or bad idea?

I'm 300lbs. I think it may be time for a treadmill. I fit, but it's a snug one. lol

I hope to paint it again back to OD. However, I want to re-letter and do stars on the doors instead of the wings. Is there anything I should know about doing that?

You'll see in the pics that one of the rear wheels is green and not tan. Apparently, the wheel was put on backwards?? Perhaps painted wrong? The inside is tan, the outside is green. lol No biggie.

With my big ass on the fender, it was making some not-so-good crackly noises. Wasn't sure it would hold me. Any tips to strengthen these?

And heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee we go!

The aftermath of her first long trip with me.

The spots on the concrete after arriving home. She's always left a little spot on the ground in this area. This spot is no different really.

Definitely coming from the HH. I have not researched these yet, so I don't know much about how they operate, or why they exist. I have read many posts/threads about them and various things, but never researched. Once we got to the show, I tried to tighten all lines and they all seemed fine. Nursed her home so we can really dig into the issue.

As mentioned, she's always left a spot on the driveway. But this seems excessive to me. I first noticed it because it was squeeking through a gap between my fender and was spattering across my door.
Again, I don't know much about these HH's, but I would assume the leak I have is a pressure leak of sorts. Only when I'm pulling up a hill, or getting the RPM's up there does is seem to leak. On the way to the show I ran between 2200 and 2500 RPM's. Never a penny more. On the way home I ran her at about 2000 consistently the whole way. Obviously the fender was soaked from the trip there, but I didn't notice any MORE from the trip home.

As mentioned........just another adventure.

Boy, she didn't like the trip to iola. Go out to drive it to work last night and the outter door lever won't work. It rotates, just doesn't do anything. Had to climb in from the passenger side and open it (glad I didn't combat lock the passenger door!)

The inside door handle does everything it should, but it won't combat lock. The outter handle doesn't do anything. Are the guts in these doors hard to get out? I'll be tearing into it tomorrow.

Regardless of her minor issues, she still has work to do!

Used the truck for "rides" at my place of employment last weekend. 3rd year in a row. And yet again, she never faltered. Love this truck.

I had my boys along this year as tour guides. They basically gave everyone the information such as warehouse square footage, production numbers, etc, etc.
