Is the drive indicator switch picture posted in post #36 suppose to face the fire wall?...is there a rod or something suppose to strike the round actuator when tranny is engaged in drive?....if so mine has been rotated and isnt near anything....lots of work ahead but i will get this generator working one way or another!

thanks steve

Installed new TC switch today, ran jumper wire from PTO switch to Drive indicator switch just to bypass the factory wire cause i had doubts and was hoping the wire was bad, but no luck PTO light still stays on unless i pull the blue knob to engage the pto...everything is wired normally open as per the TM'S....keith_j, you are the only one ive seen with the black normally closed switch...that has me confused...Could a bad Drive Indicator switch be causing my Pto light to stay on?....im guessing not....but i wonder what would happen if i swapped out a normally open switch for a closed switch?...kinda makes sense cause the light goes out when the blue knob is pilled out to engage PTO???... im open to suggestions at this point

thanks steve

Test the switch. With the PTO knob pushed in, the switch should be open. It should close when the knob is fully pulled. Disconnect the switch before checking to rule out a short to ground somewhere else.

switch tested fine when PTO knob pushed /pulled...i still cant help but wonder change out the switch and trying a normally closed switch?...would'nt that cause the light to be out when knob pushed in then light on when knob pulled out?

The voltage to the actuator varies to keep generator speed constant despite load. The fuel solenoid is on the injection pump, the pink wire. When the transfer case is in any gear but neutral, current flows as normal to the solenoid. When the transfer is in neutral, current flows through the relay in the box. If the generator over-speeds, the relay switches causing the solenoid to shut off fuel to the engine, killing the engine.
