For sure not carc..but a heck of alot easier on the lungs. And clean up was so simple.

Later I am going to try 383 green rustoleum like Sean Filner/Able build did with tan..I hear that is pretty tough

Overall. Very happy with results

You bet, it looks great.

And I'm a little removed from the industry but guessing that paint hasn't changed all that much.

The rule of thumb was Exterior paint, you figured re-painting every 5-7 years no matter who the manufacturer or what quality.

Dam work is keeping me jumping. Not much MV RTB action/mainlining . Past couple of days we got some down pours, no internal leaks.

Picked up some galvanized sheet for patch panels. Rivets/will use Sikaflex 221 to seal.

Spent a few minutes sweeping and removing junk from inside the box..and contemplating repairs to the buggered up hack job to the the space left of the door. Thinking maybe a small pdp to plug in power, water ect, with a hinged cover similar to whats on the door/and rear at fan outlets.

Also, starting to think longer range-dsl fired hot water heater, ac, solar power, shower, bunk, weapons/storage..

Still waiting for my 300140 rebuild kit

AHU pump rebuild

With the 300140 kit on hand, I now have all the seals, springs balls and gaskets to rebuild the AHU cab/spare tire air over hydraulic pump.

I started out by inventory and id, then i removed the parts that are not used. One gasket that is not on the parts breakdown is the sq gasket with 4 holes..right picture, bot left..additionally the old pump did not have this gasket installed...

take a look at that reservoir gasket, gone is that cork gasket, replaced with a rubber gasket. i think that eliminates the potential for the common leak/silicone mess and split cork i have seen in the past.

Oh, interesting bit of information. kit came from Alaska, Ordered through MRO Hydraulic $76.00, free shipping.

TM Reference; FIG.253 AIR/HYDRAULIC POWER UNIT,HOSES
AND FITTINGS, Item 24 PAOOF 0PFG7 58477 TANK AND PUMP UNIT,................. 1

Shelter Work Continues

Although I want to rush through this AHU rebuild, I am not..

Based on daylight remaining, decided to spend a little more time in the box clearing out conduit, wire and lights. It was too late to really get anything in depth done..

lil progress..even the switch and led work..see 3rd pic as the sun went down

I have been pinging Sean Filner/Abel, but have not heard..for sure would appreciate if anyone knows or has purchased, post up paint code.
Takes awhile to figure out how S.Soldiers is divided up...... but their is a paint and body-ish forum. You can probably find your answer about paint there quicker

https://www.steelsoldiers.com/forumdisplay.php?23-Paint-and-Bodywork

also this looks real helpful....... tons of military paint codes..... literally. https://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcodedisplay.cgi?manuf=Military&con=m&page=1&rows=50

AHU pump rebuild added info

In my quest to find a more inclusive kit for this pump, i stumbled on this part number which contains numerous matching part numbers for the 64574/58477 pump including the 3 SS recommended parts. 14121/17429/202613

-Items with * come in kit,

-items in Italic/underlined match part number of 64574/58477 and TM

-Items Bold,Italic/underlined, are the SS recommended parts

I was trying to find additional parts in a kit form verse buying separate. This gives you 23 parts included in the kit that are a direct part number match for the FMTV pump and 8 parts you may not us..again, price might dictate. 76.00 is what the kit goes for.

Considering the 3 SS parts alone are 60 dollars, for a few bucks more you get 20 additional parts.

This below list is the breakdown of a pump with similar features [100190,100195] https://www.spxflow.com/en/assets/pdf/100375_parts.pdf

Note-I also see a regulator and oilier made for the pump in the parts illustration.

I did another review to the TM, and found more part number matches
