Thursday morning
Getting light
Some impressions from the early Thursday morning vendor's field and the MKT at the break of dawn,
The next mayor action underway: the bed swap, with 73m819 on the wrecker with Recovery4x4's CUCV getting a new bed. Recovery4x4 gave comment to the pics that I copied here almost unchanged (Thanks Kenny).
048: Recovry4x4's truck getting ready to lose the steel topper and transfer tank.
049: Shows (left to right) Speddmon sitting in his truck, Recovery4x4 stumbling off (his words), 73m819 operating the wrecker, load out Sgt Gimpy and Spec Ops Sgt Robert (rmtaunton).
050: Gimpy holding on to Special Ed's new bed.
051: Speddmon waiting for his bed to be swung around so the hive of workers can bolt it down.
teaser alert: I am off to bed now (just past midnight here) but time allowing tomorrow I will upload a bunch of pics on Andy3's engine swap - part 1.

Some more details of Friday's activities and on-goings. Even if I wrote something there already, feel free to add details or comment; I will incorporate it.
059: Breakfast at Mike's ...
060: ... or some coffee on the go. Not quite sure though what the spare parts and the grill are doing there. Maybe a take-away?
061: Some heavy wheeling and dealing going on here. Nice dog.

063: The Morgans ongoing M129A2C camper project pulled by an M916 LET (mdmorganwife corrected me, its actually an M915).
064: The first family activity I saw: ThunderCracker's wife Sarah and Daughter Anna-Grace playing Old Maid (first did not get it but I looked it up and turned out it is the name of an old Victorian card game in which the loser has to pay for the drinks). In the back Steve6x6x6's bobbed Deuce A3
065: Two more M9.. something trucks. Nice beasts.
I could find some pics and specs but nothing enough together to make a clear ID on those 900 AM-General - CCC series trucks. Somebody fill me in please in simple words?

068: I risk being banned here but this Peterbuilt was a very close contender for King of the Rally for me. Should have had a decent sleeper behind it though. M&R Freight from Alabama. Owner and some more details on this beast? The Sunday morning picture (unnumbered) just before departure show its passengers; an M38 and a 5-ton?.
069: An M37, Friday it was standing between the Peterbuilt and the cabin.

074: Swiss has arrived with his family and evicted Ferro and me. He had brought a nice tent for me to sleep in as alternative (Thanks!). Worked a treat but the only problem was that the bed did not fit anymore. Oh well, just the mattress with blankets and my own sleeping back works as well. The bed I put in the back part of Ron's duplex with my suitcase, an ideal place for a quick quiet catnap.

Robo, #66 was only 1 towbar. That was my truck the day after Kenny and I switched the beds around. You can still see the wood chips in the bed from where Gimpy and I procured firewood the night before. Oh, and a beer or 30 might have been drank that night as well.

A series about the first day of Andy3's engine swap, the mayor technical action of the rally.
075: Andy3's Deuce M35A2 waiting for its engine swap. It sat sadly alone on the repair field for the first few days until the action started.
076: The old engine: kaput. Broken camshaft. Oddshot is doing a very interesting post-mortum on it. The red sticks on the right of the picture are civic whatyemecallits to keep the hood open and let it come down slowly. Interesting idea.
077: Spec Ops Sgt Robert (rmtaunton) taking a final look before ordering "All Hands". In the back Coffey1's 5-ton 1984 M923 providing auxiliary equipment.
078: The work table for storing the nuts, bolts and artifacts as the come of the truck

079: Robert (rmtaunton) is supervising while Robert (Robo McDuff) and Coffey1 are taking some things apart.
