The Vacuum Valve is on the pass side of the injector pump.
It is a plastic thingy with vacuum hoses coming out of it.
Check all vac lines first.
The final part of this system is the Vacuum Modulator on the pass side of the transmission.

Also, yes, autozone has keyed-alike door and ignition lock sets that match, So you can still have just one key.
Joe.

my 96 6.5 feels like it will get second gear scratch when it shifts into secind gear, unless I have my foot in it. good luck with it. At least gl didn't bend the driveline when they move them with a forklift! (like they did to 2 of my trucks):x

I know they need to unload the vehicles from the flatbed trailers they arrive on but man. They need to do something about the damage! Nellis had a bunch of Blazers comming up for auction. I checked almost all of them and they all had extensive fork lift damage. Some had little door damage but just as much undercarriage damage as the other ones. Its a shame. I think one needs to bid at bases that have the vehicles based there.

Maybe the key is worn or cut wrong.

The truck came with two keys and I had three. All were the same. When you look at the locks you can see how wore out they are. I will post a pic. You cant even get the key in the passenger door lock. I made the mistake of locking the doors when I loaded her up. It took quite some time of wiggling the key to get it into the driver side door.

I have heard that these engines are not that powerful but this unit has more power than the Hummer I use to drive with a 6.2 in it. Granted this is a lighter vehicle but still. This engine seems to have plenty of power.

I had the same shifting problem with my m1009. It wouldnt shift until almost redline even at part throttle. The vaccum lines were cracked and leaking so after replacing them it worked alright. That is until i lost 3rd and reverse when i was playing in the desert but i dont think that had anything to do with the shift points being high.
